I'm so excited - I finally got the hotel room filled and we'll be heading to the CHEA Convention in July. I've gone every year and, even though I've moved farther away, I was determined to keep up the tradition. It's always been a great "girl's weekend away," and it will be no different this year. Of course, now I have some new friends to bunk with. And, I'll have the opportunity to meet fellow-blogger Lizziebee in person.
Anyway, the park days that our family initiated are starting to build momentum. We had a great time last Friday - some of the kids were up to their elbows in papier mache. But, the remainder of the balloons ended up full of water, flying through the air. Very refreshing on a hot almost-summer day. I think next week we'll suggest squirt guns.

It is fun to see someone else who gets as excited as I and my dear friend do about CHEA. We love it, too. We live just down the fwy. from convention and it doesn't stop us from getting a room and turning it into a fabulous weekend retreat. This will be my seventh year at convention and it is always so refreshing, especially the time with friends sharing our experiences. Have a great time at convention.

Good to hear from you over on my blog. I really think that ebooks is a great way to go, and for several reasons. One, you get your work out there and with networking, etc., will no doubt have an income stream coming in. It may be small, but nevertheless, you are getting paid for writing. Two, I think it will spur a person on to continue writing and offering things to the public. Three, I think that with a successful ebook business, traditional publishers would be more apt to take a look at one's work. If they see that an author is good at self-promotion and has a following, they are much more likely to be serious about your work.
Regarding time...well, I leave other things undone (like dishes, laundry, dusting). I am not the most organized person. Getting better, but still have a long way to go. With the kids, we usually take two months off, July and December, and then a week now and then when we're burned out. They are older (14 and 15), but in some ways need more time. School is actually going a lot longer than when they were younger, and if I don't check regularly to make sure they are working they often leave things undone. I'm really dealing with some character issues at this point (lack of motivation being the greatest). My friends tell me it is teenage angst, but whatever it is, it ticks me off! I'm looking forward to the convention to get some inspiration time and hopefully some ideas on how to deal with high school issues. Looking forward to seeing you!!
