And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God...

• Mar. 13, 2007 - It's like summer here - Let's take a field trip!

Yesterday, we took a field trip,  one of those huge perks/blessings of being a homeschooler.  The weather was amazing and so we did our devotional and read aloud our Five in a Row book, Daniel's Duck and then headed out for a "suprise ride"(where the kids have to get in the car and know we are doing something fun, but don't know where until we get there)   We went to Griffith Park and rode the train which all the kids just loved.  Then we had a picnic lunch and went to the park.  I was feeling a tinge guilty.  Until, that is, a busload of public school kids arrived to have their lunch at the park too.  Well, if their teachers got to call the same activity a school day then I certainly won't feel bad about calling it one!

Here are some kinda odd pictures of my students:

CJ:  Wearing AF's hat and being silly

AK trying to scare off the ants from getting our lunch

EF:  Oh, no pictures, please.  I didn't have a chance to do my hair today.

AF:I'm going up the slide alone and you can't stop me!

Although it's nice that things aren't cold, I do have to say that it is a little too hot to get into the 90's in mid-March.  Next time I think we'll just head for the beach:)

Blessings!

-J

They grow so fast don't they! What a blessing to spend so much time seeing them grow, learn, explore, and love the life God has given them! Thanks for sharing about your day!

These are great pictures! I love the one where your son is scaring away the ants-that is so funny.
I'm glad I read your post below about the Mr. Emberly books, too. My son thinks he can't draw. Maybe these would help. He did well with the "Draw Write Now" books, but said he was copying-not really doing his own artwork.
It was great catching up with you. Holly
