We had so much fun rowing this book this week. The kids just loved learning about bees and we capped off the week by borrowing the Magic School Bus In a Hive. One of their assignments was to write about bees. Girl7 wrote a report about what she had learned about bees. Boy6 dictated a report to me. I assigned Girl3 to write a story about bees. Here is her story:
"Once upon a time there was a bee hive and there was one little bee that was all alone. She was going to sting somebody. When someone was almost going to pass her then she stung him. Then she died. The End."
She is also now referring to her juice as her "nectar".
Girl3 has really kept me smiling in the past few weeks, but she gets really embarrassed if anyone laughs at her so I have to really hold it in. This was a recent coversation I overheard as she and Boy6 were making a ship in the living room:
Girl3: I want to bring my pillow in the boat.
Boy6: There are no pillows in boats.
Girl3: Yes, there are.
Boy6: No, there aren't.
Girl3: Yes, there are. In the Bible it says that Jesus slept on a boat and He had a pillow so I can too.
Another one at the dinner table, as she's looking at her plate of spagetti noodles on one side and meatballs on the other(everything needs to be separate and not touching right now). Girl3: Mom, my plate has heaven on one side and hell on the other. Heaven is the part with the white and hell is the part with the dark and red.
Indulge me one more:
Girl3: When I grow up I want to be a princess and a pastor's wife and a mommy and a cowgirl and kitty cat.
Mom: Wow, you're going to be pretty busy.
Girl3: Don't be silly, Mom. I won't be them all at the same time. |

Have a super time off! We have been on vacation for a couple of weeks here. I am starting to feel the itch to get some structure back. We will see! :)
