AK went to the doctor today. BW took him since I knew he was getting his Kindergarten shots and I didn't think I was strong enough to hold him down now. Very healthy boy!! He's exactly 40 lbs and 40 inches - BW said he's like a cube:) The doctor was going over his records from our old doctor and noticed that he had actually received all his shots last year so all he did today was a finger stick blood draw and a tb skin test.
So the doctor asks what school he's going to be going to Kindergarten at and BW tells her that we are hsing. She starts to look uncomfortable and says that she isn't sure what the immunization requirements are for hsing. BW told her that he needs to be vaccinated just like any other kid - why would the vaccinations be any different?? I think we've just been so spoiled with the great amount of hsing support we receive here - between the seminary families and the 3 hsing groups (that are all based just in our city) we are involved in and my online hsing friends that I forget that it still seems really "out there" to a lot of people.
Anyway, glad to know that the boy is healthy, growing & thriving.
