One of the ladies as WellTellMe thought of the idea of having an apron swap, and while I have never worn an apron, I thought that this might be a fun idea.
I bought a new sewing machine back in November and haven't really had the chance to use it. I am out of the practice of sewing and was wanting to get the new machine in use. I have never sewn on such a "fancy" machine either so I think I was a bit intimidated by it...
I used Simplicity pattern 3949 for my aprons that I sewed. The pattern comes with 3 different styles: a traditional apron, the traditional style with a heart-shaped bodice, and a more simple "chef" style apron. The pattern comes in both children and adult sizes.
The yellow apron is the child's traditional style apron. I made the top out of a small gingham print and the skirt out of a larger gingham. The adult sized apron is a strawberry print in the chef style with a coordinating red, dotted fabric for the pockets.
