Last Friday I posted this question on WTM: Who are the 5 people that you'd most like to meet?
My list included Shakespeare, Bill Gates, Debi Pearl, Mary Magdelene and Florence Nightingale. After thinking about it I think I would drop Florence and add Leonardo daVinci as I have always found him fascinating.......... I'm just always afraid that when meeting brilliant people my dullness will show.

The question on my mind for this week involves how God blesses us... I have heard, and probably said, that I have been blessed with this or that... God has blessed me with a good car.... I have been blessed with a nice house....You hear the rich polititians on TV say how much they have been blessed with... etc/ ad nauseum...... Who hasn't heard this???
My question is this: Does God really bless us with STUFF??? Does God consider a big screen TV and an iPod to be blessings? Can anything that is manmade truly be a blessing from God?
Or is it that He blesses us with wisdom to know how to best utilize the things that we have? Does he bless us with a giving heart so that the things we have benefit those in need? Is all of the stuff that we accumulate in life there so that we may grow in our virtues?
I guess I am wondering, after being told that this was someone's prayer, does God really care which new car we pick? Is it really about the "stuff" that we have?
I don't know that I am looking for some great theological answer, but feel free to leave comments if you have any insight....

but blessings are people being saved form darkness, the Word of God in a storm, having a personal relationship w/ our Creator, and good health. Love thy neighbor as thy self, is what i think you were hinting at ? Holly aka all@Jesus
