Still fighting a cold, but I don't feel too bad. It's getting to the point to where I'm sick of being sick, and my temper is getting short...
I have tried to keep busy... I've been cooking up a ton of food and the fridge is full. I've been eating healthy and exercised all week, but weight and body fat are still up... at least there's next week....
I didn't feel like doing a whole lot today, but I did manage to get started on my new handbag... I think I mentioned wanting to sew one similar to the Vera Bradley hipster style, but that may have just been my imagination. I bought a pattern as I couldn't find a free one I liked... Simplicity 9779 has 5 different styles to choose from.
I think that before starting a new project I kind of fall in love with the idea beforehand... I love the idea of sewing handbags...maybe I could sell some and everyone will want one because they're so wonderfully pretty! I can quit my job and let Mr. B manage my handbag empire while I dream up new color combinations....
What a joke... I think I did the same thing in my head when I started making salves... I love the making of salves and playing with my herbs, but when it came to selling them I just don't deal well. I think it was a disaster as the salves were runny, or they weren't what people wanted...I feel like I disappointed people with them....
What it comes down to, is I like the idea of making things and of bringing joy to people, but I am not a seller. I would much rather just give things to people.... maybe I want to be Santa Claus when I grow up....
....................
I have never quilted before, and it doesn't seem to be that difficult, but let me just say it is a pain. I marked one line in each direction and using my machine's guide quilted the front and back of the bag. (BTW..I love my sewing machine...)
It turned out well, but it was just so tedious!!!! My short attention span kicked in almost immediately, and I was so bored...sew one straight line...then another...then another.....you get my point I hope because I could go on for quite some time...
The green pattern is the outside and the blue is the lining...the lines are each 1 inch apart to give perspective.
I got the quilting part done today because I didn't want to have to do it any more another day... I hate mindless tedium, but at least there was a payoff with this... it looks good! |
