Today is my weekly clean-up day, and since I didn't feel like doing much last week the job seemed really big today... but everyone helped out and it went quickly....
I do like the idea of using all natural cleaners, but quite frankly, I do use the store bought stuff. I like tweaking recipes and seeing how they work, but my old stand-bys are often the best...
For general cleaning most anything I mix a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar with filtered water.... depending upon the job I add essential oils (eo)...because I need to overwhelmed by my sense of smell telling me that it is clean, too...
Today I did mopping and added to a pint of vinegar/water: rosemary eo about 15 drops, tea tree oil about 10 drops, and lavender eo about 10 drops.... these eo blend together really well and provided a nice scent.... the cool thing about eo is that they aren't just for decoration, they eo actually have herbal and disinfectant properties of their own....
Tea tree oil has an amazing amount of uses, but I tend to add it when I need a hard-core disinfectant... Rosemary also does the same. Lavender is relaxing, and really I just thought it might go well with these 2 other distintive ones...
I also make my own liquid dish/hand soap that sits next to the sink.... I use unscented castille soap (dr bronners) and dilute it with water... ratio soap:water 2:1...... I usually let the Princess scent this, but again my fav's are rosemary, tea tree with some citrus like sweet orange or grapefruit...
The citrus eo tend to also have degreasing properties which make them good in dishsoaps...
And while I am on the subject of soap..... I have a couple of bars listed for sell on WellTellMe at this link Soap for sale Feel free to email me if you are interested, but don't want to go thru Well TellMe...you should be able to click on the email me button under links... I am also selling a jar of BooBoo salve...

I figured that I should just give things a try and start off slowly....
