You know how things make sense in your own mind in how they flow, but when you try to tell how you got to a conclusion it turns out that there is really very little flow of ideas? This is one of those kind of things.
I have an empty 10 gallon aquarium that we are wanting to turn into a terrarium. Last year we we able to get some tadpoles from the river, but they didn't do well in the container we tried keeping them in. This year we are planning to take the aquarium and make a little mini-ecosystem with sand, dirt, plants and a pond. In my mind the whole thing is pretty cool... but I wanted to get a pie pan for the pond.
I didn't have any of the cheap, foil ones and figured that I needed to get one from the grocery... but why buy an empty one when I can get a pie crust and make a pie and then use it...
So I called Daisy and got the recipe for my favorite cheesecake from my childhood... I probably haven't had this in over 20 years, so I hope that I'm not severly let down by it. You know how you remember things as being so big or wonderful and then find out they really weren't?
So I got the recipe for the cheesecake, gathered the ingredients and then made them. They are not traditional cheesecakes, but are really quick and easy... and better if memory serves me.... I haven't tried them yet.... waiting for Mr. B tomorrow for that...

Mix these ingredients together and pour into the chilled crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Chill for at least 20 minutes.
1 pint sour cream

1 tsp vanilla
Mix and pour over top of the cream cheese layer. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes.. Chill for 1-3 hours. I top with canned cherry pie filling (no added sugar)...
