See the Blue Sky

We are planning a trip to the North Ga mountains soon to the town of Ellijay to pick up some apples from the orchards there.  I don't know what their season has been like this year, but I'm hoping that the apples are good like in other recent years.

Marc (Mr. B) was excited by the amount of grape (muscadine) jelly that I was able to make and is encouraging me to make up alot of stuff with the apples, too.  We are planning apple jelly, apple butter, apple sauce, and he was very interested in the possibility of drying apples.

Well... I didn't own a dehydrator, and I don't care for flies buzzing around with them outside, but that all has changed!  I received my dehydrator this week, and was finally able to try it out today with some herbs.

I have a beautiful tarragon plant that is a perennial shrub-like thing, and some sage that stayed thru all last winter but I'm always afraid that will die off.

So I decided to see how it goes and dry them in this manner instead of my old trusty screens-on-the-front-porch fashion.

Now just bring on the apples....
