Our journey of Homeschooling

• Oct. 25, 2006 - Assignment # 4, Pumpkin Party

PUMPKIN PARTY!!
Unfortunately the best I can do today is to tell you what we do-
I make pumpkin pies from cans! We also carve pumpkins with patterns, sometimes using a dremel tool. We also decorate inside and out, except this year, we are too swamped with other things that we were unable to decorate.

Sometimes we take the pumpkin seeds after cleaning the pumpkins, clean the seeds, and bake them in the oven with a mixture of salt and butter. They are delicious snacks!

Part 2-
I have to guess how many pieces of candy corn fit into the jar- my official guess is:
145 pieces

I am sure I am way off on this- I have never been good at guessing things in a jar!

Sorry I couldn't do better at this weeks assignment, I will try harder next week.

Your homemade pumpkin seeds sounds yummy!
I have a huge favor to ask...can you PLEASE post your guess on my site in the comments section. This is the only way that I can keep track of them without visiting every site.

Thank you, Tamara

Glad you found the recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I am sincerely hoping it's the one I made last year, I don't recall oatmeal in them. My son keeps begging me to make them again. If I had the ingredients I would whip 'em up to be sure (Certainly NOT so I could enjoy them and blow my diet! Not at all! LOL)

Decorating for each season is fun! I don't do much because of a lack of resources but a little bit here and there is nice.

We roast the seeds around here, too. My husband makes them really spicy, but I like your butter idea.

p.s. I got the MindWare catalog today. I'm not opening it! :)

I am with you about guessing things in a jar -- I never guess anywhere near the correct number.
...sigh...
