Thursday, October 11, 2007 The Grand Finale....
The Secret Sisters came to a close at the end of September. My sweet secret sister is Kim. Her blog is very lovely just like her! Yesterday, I received the "grand finale" box from her. She sent me a ceramic mug, a teapot nightlight, a deck of Florida playing cards, a Florida pen, a Florida magnet, and a pretty notecard filled with kind words. Wow! Thank you, Kim, for being such a wonderful sister in Christ!
By the way, I was Tracey's secret sister. I have enjoyed surprising her with little gifts. I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Let's stay in touch, Tracey. |

Friday, September 14, 2007 She has spoiled me!
I had a nice surprise yesterday. Another package from my secret sister arrived. She gave me a journal with a picture of four cute puppies on the front cover, 2 blue ball point pens, and 3 Disney stickers for my kids.
Thank you very much, my sweet secret sister, for being so kind, generous, and thoughtful! I do journaling (not as consistently as I want to :)). May the Lord bless you and your family abundantly! I'm going to miss having you as my secret sister. You have spoiled me :)! |

Tuesday, August 7, 2007 I want to adopt her :).
Yesterday, I received another package from my secret sister. Inside the package I found pretty magnetic note pads, 2 magnets, and a lovely card that has a part of Romans 15:13 in the front, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (I quoted the whole verse here.) My secret sister and I are somewhat alike; both of us are list makers and we both use a dry erase marker board for prayer lists. I can't wait to find out who she is :).
Thank you, Sweet Secret Sister, for your prayers and thoughtfulness! You and your family are also in my prayers. I don't have any sisters and have always wanted (at least) one. May I please adopt you as my sister? :) |

Friday, July 27, 2007 When it rains, it pours :)
I'm talking about the Lord's blessings here. This week I traveled around the blogosphere and was introduced to many new blogs through the Dog Days of Summer Bloggy Giveaway. It's lots of fun. I wish I could participate as a giveaway giver but I was too late (hopefully, Shannon will do this again). However, I did participate by leaving comments on several giveaway posts. Today I have been notified as a winner five different times. I won:
- Blue Swirl Lovey from Leah
- A pop-up book from Dawn
- Star-shaped red wicker snack server from Jill
- A photo album from Amy
- First issue of Marmee Dear Magazine from Livin4Him6.
Thank you all for making my day :)! Well, that's not all the excitement around here. Today I also received a book, Real Life Devotions and Funny Stories for Women and a lovely note from my secret sister. How kind and thoughtful of her!!! I've started to read the book and I enjoy it a lot. Thanks so much, my sweet secret sister, for being such a beautiful blessing in my life! You are the icing on the cake today :). And your prayer has been answered: God does pour blessings upon my family.
I've been so blessed; I would like to have an opportunity to bless others. I'm thinking about having a giveaway sometime on my blog next month. Do you know that August 31st is International Blog Day? Shouldn't we (bloggers) have some kind of celebration on that day? :) I have to think about that... |

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 Sweet to the Soul
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Proverbs 16:24
Yesterday, I was so excited to receive a letter from my secret sister. She also gave me a plastic card (the size of a credit card) that has "God Loves You" with a smiley face on one side and has Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." on the other side.
Thank you so much, my dear secret sister/sister in Christ! Your pleasant words are sweet to the soul, indeed. You and your family are in my prayers. I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and your prayers for me & my family. May the Lord bless you as you seek to bless others! |

Sunday, May 20, 2007 Secret Sisters
I have participated in secret sisters at church and at our homeschool co-op several times. I enjoy encouraging and surprising others :). Through the scrapbooking party yesterday, I discovered that Tamara organizes secret sisters for homeschool moms and yesterday was the deadline. Well, just in time...I am signed up for the Homeschool Moms Secret Sister Session #2! I'm very excited about this!
In the Bible, Joseph (a Levite from Cyprus) had a great nickname, "Barnabas" which means "Son of Encouragement." "Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. The Lord's hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord." Acts 11: 20-24 Wouldn't it be neat to have a nickname that means "Daughter of Encouragement?" I would love to have that nickname :).
"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness." Hebrews 3:13
