Awhile back my 15yods decided he wanted to shoot for the Air Force Academy. We did the research on what it would take to get him in a position to be a candidate and we were so far from the mark we thought there was really no hope. But over the last few months my ds has managed to get his grades up, do well in Civil Air Patrol and the last thing he needed to do was be involved in some kind of club sport. Well..this particular ds is NOT sport oriented and he has never liked sports before. So we toss around a few ideas. Our homeschool support group has several sports to choose from. The problem is my ds is in 10th grade and has NEVER played a sport in his life..well I take that back. When he was 5 he played T-Ball but he was more interested in chasing the bugs and lizards than he was in chasing the ball. Thats why we have several snakes and lizards in the home!LOL Well he tried out for the high school baseball team and MADE IT!! And the best part....He LOVES it! I was so worried about that because it would be difficult to play a sport for 3 years just to be able to make it into the Academy and hate it. I know if that is his path God will make a way! |
