Happy Birthday!
Posted on Nov. 12, 2009 in Birthdays

5 years ago today you were born.......
{and since I can't find a picture of him 5 years ago, I found the next best thing: one of him with Isaiah when he was a baby...3 years ago! }

This is when he was in a headband stage. He wore them all the time at home, and cried when he couldn't wear them to church!
Noah and Isaiah like to do almost everything together! Some of the things they do can be quite interesting! Like dumping the upstairs bathroom trash out of the window! Or, wearing shoes 7 sizes to big for them!

And sometimes, he can be a bit camera shy....so Isaiah hams it up for him!

He likes to pretend that things are on fire in the back yard.....and gets everything wet!

But, he is also a good little helper and helped everybody clean the barn a few months ago!

Happy Birthday Noah!!!
We love you!!!
P.S. Two of Noah's favorite YouTube videos...see if you can guess why!

Happy Birthday!
Posted on Nov. 10, 2009 in Birthdays
Two Sundays ago we celebrated the birthday twins' birthdays .
We had homemade ice cream...
...and fudgy brownies with a minty topping
and presents!

Twenty-one years ago, I got my first little sister. She has put up with a lot from me over the years. I convinced her to eat dog food for me (so she could tell me what it tasted like! ), tried choking her with a ribbon off of my teddy bear(!), and a whole host of other things that I won't list . It's amazing that we're such good friends, now! She is a very sweet sister to have, and is always very thoughtful and helpful to other people. Even though she's my younger sister, I look up to her in many ways : D
This picture proves that I was nice to her...sometimes! See? I was sharing my sucker with her!

My favorite one!

Susannah and I

Then, three years later (exactly!), I got another sweet little sister : ) I loved carrying her around! When I watch home videos of me swinging her around, I am amazed that Daddy and Mommy let me at 5 years old, carry such a new little baby! Now, she could just about carry me around, I think! She was a little clown as a little girl (and can still be a clown sometimes!). Now I have found a fellow organizer that I can count on to...well, organize!
And I just must add, that I can really look up to this sister!

Isn't she adorable?!

Susannah and Cassia : )
Cassia and Susannah, who decided to color their lips with watercolor pencils one day!

I love you girls!

Happy 16th Birthday Cassia!
Posted on Jul. 31, 2009 in Birthdays

2 years old

10 years old.
Cassia is very special to me in a lot of ways : ) I love her exuberance that shows up in everything she does--from playing the piano, to playing with her siblings : ) She knows how to work hard, and have fun. She loves her family and her home, loves to sing, play her piano and cello, and absolutely loves playing a good joke on someone, whether that be scaring someone out of their wits, or just good-natured teasing : ) She is truly our "spicy" girl, and I might add that she is a very nice spice to have in our family : )

Cassia, picking blueberries.

Cassia, goofing off with Susannah. A good (or dangerous!) combination : D
Happy Sweet 16 Cassia!
May God richly bless you this year in your walk with Him and may His peace and joy continue to shine from you! I'm glad you're my sister!
I love you!

It IS a Happy Birthday : )
Posted on Dec. 24, 2008 in Birthdays
Thank you, Mommy Dear for your posts! I love you very much and you are a wonderful example to me
Thank you to all of you who left comments! It is like having a bunch of birthday cards and it is so encouraging
My dear sisters have been so nice and made my favorite breakfast of biscuits, sausage gravy, and fried apples (actually it was a brunch, since we slept in !). It was sooo yummy! Mommy had some running to do, so she let me go along, and that was fun--of course! I just love birthdays!!! I have been pretty lazy today I'm afraid, but it is sort of nice to be lazy--sometimes .
Thank you once again for all your comments--they brightened my day!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!!
Love,

Our Birthday! a little late.
Posted on Nov. 19, 2008 in Birthdays
Does this picture look like it was taken in August?

Well, matter of fact, it was taken on our birthday! I couldn't believe it that after all that frost we got, our roses started blooming again, the tansy and garlic in the garden started growing (that was planted in May!) and the onions (that we thought had died) are now alive!! Strange!
But the reason I am writing this post is not about strange things (although I could go on about that;) but about our birthdays. Lyssa's and mine I mean...not everybody's!!!!!
I am posting a couple of pictures. (At this house it means 10-15. You know, you ask for a couple of tissues and a 7 year old comes back with two handfuls...well, that was me! )
ANYWAYS! pictures....

Well, this isn't exactly our birthday...but I thought it was really cute. That is Charissa with "Ethiopia" one of our kittens.
And Rebekah below with "Mexico" another one of our kittens.

Okay....birthday pictures:

Lyssa with her new tea cup from Cassie

(Me) Suzanna and my tealight pie-shaped candle holders (from Mommy)

Lyssa with her new Edwardian apron (from Mommy)

Aprons we gave each other

And our birthday picture....eeek why am I standing on the step?

Okay, thats better...She's on the step!
Remember last week we were featured in the Best Friends magazine? (Well, not really )

And below is one of our trees, most of our trees are maple so almost all of them look like this.

And about our birthday? Well, normal custom is a "spend it yourself because I am working on your present" day. Good thing I share a birthday with someone or I would be really lonely Okay, its not that bad. Usually someone is finished so we can do something : ) We always (or almost always) have a party in the evening with just family. We also get to pick all the meals of the day! We had ham and cheese quiche, pumpkin/chocolate chip muffins and lemon tea muffins, fruit salad, and grape juice for breakfast. For lunch...what lunch? Breakfast was lunch! : ) And for supper we had creamy spinach enchiladas, BBQ meatballs, sweet potato rolls, and for dessert we had cream cheese/chocolate chip brownies with homemade vanilla ice cream!! It was so good!!
Also on our birthdays we don't have to cook, clean, feed our goats, or wash any dishes...that is if we don't want to! But usually (since we have no work to do....and that makes one bored) we end up doing something!
