It's the weekend! Woohoo!!!

Posted in Family

It is Friday.  That means 2 things.  First, we have to take the garbage off.  Second and best of all, Paul gets to come home today.  We actually got to have him home one night this week.  That is always a blessing.  He was home with us for 7 months.  Weekends really just blended in with the rest of the week.  Now, we look forward to having Dad home and it is a neat time for us.

We are going to do school today and clean on the house a little.  Nothing big planned.  I am trying to think of what to do for Valentines Day.  Paul will be home since it will be on Saturday this year.  I want to do something neat.  So, my brain is kicked in and I am thinking.

Well, time to get the coffee.  I like to make it, let it set and get hotter before I drink it.  I know that sounds crazy.  I guess that is one of my little quirks.  I always eat my fries first before my sandwich too.   I guess we all have those little things we do.

Have a blessed day!  HUGS!

Happy Jan 5th

Happy Monday

We have so much to be thankful for.  We had an accident with the wood stove @1 am on Sunday morning.  Thank God, Paul woke up and that woke me up.  We went out and took care of it and nothing was harmed too bad.  The smoke and smell was the worst.  God is awesome to watch over us.

We went to church twice yesterday.  Both services were really good.  I will be going to Sunday school with the boys for the next couple of weeks.  I just don't want to throw them in to a class that I don't know about or what is being taught in it..  That's the next step.  They also have a Women's retreat coming up that really sounded good.  I am praying about that and checking in to it.

Paul had to leave after church last night.  That was icky.  It is never easy for me to let him go.  Last night was especially hard though.  I really like him.  He is in Chicago now, taking a nap.  I bet you can't say that your hubby goes off to another state to take a nap.  LOL  He is the best.

The boys are doing school.  We did school last week too.  It was funny to hear others complaining about school starting back today.  We already had that first day back under our belts.  I love homeschooling.

I guess that's it for today.  I am waiting on a book to arrive that I bought to read with some girls on the Homeschool Lounge.  I am excited about that.  I am a little behind but will catch up.

Have a blessed Monday.  HUGS!

Back to school

We are back to school.  We started yesterday.  We like to be able to take an  extra day here and there, especially if hubby comes home.  It just works good for us.

Things are pretty calm here.  We have no plans for the next few weeks, so we will just be having a slow life right now.  That is a good thing after running so much in the past few weeks.  I am looking forward to just doing some cleaning and chilling out with my guys.

Did I mention how much I love my Christmas present.  Bob is my favorite present ot all times.  He is the most awesome dog.  Paul even likes him.  I am so blessed.

I just wanted to check in.  I don't like to go so long without blogging.  I really wanted to keep this as a journal for all of us.  I just need to take more pics and post them.  Of course, I can think of other things to work on as well.

Have a blessed day!  HUGS

I still know how to blog.........really

I really do know how to blog, I just can't seem to make it happen like I used to.  I guess I have gone thru a slump and just need to get out of it and get over it.  I am also thinking of changing over to blogger.  That will come sometime in the future.  I will let you all know.  I know that others have told me that they can't get the RSS feed to work on my blog.

We had a terrific Christmas.  We went to Crossville on Monday and celebrated there.  We ended up spending the night and coming home Tuesday.  We spent Christmas morning here opening gifts and enjoying each other.  Then we went to Paul's dad and mom's house for the day.  My favorite gift this year is Bob.  I just love this dog.  He is awesome.  He makes me smile.  He even cracks me up by sleeping under the covers.  He is really an awesome addition to our home and I can't imagine that we ever lived without him.  What a blessing!!!  Thank you Lord and thank you Paul for letting me get him.

We spent yesterday cleaning the front of the garage.  We now have a gated door in the garage door and the cats can't come in.  This is a huge blessing.  They had taken over the garage and now we have taken it back.  We bleached the floors and it is a much better place.  We got about 2/3 of it done and now we just have to do the other part.  We need to organize a little more and things will be much better out there.  Yayyyyyyy!!!

I was hoping to go to Somerset today but it doesn't look like that will happen.  My guys are all still asleep.  Who knows what this day will hold.  We wake up in a new world everyday here.  LOL

Have a blessed day!!!  HUGS

Hi, how's that for original

Good Morning.

We just aren't doing so well with getting our days and nights turned back around.  Mornings are not as pleasant as I would like them to be.  We just aren't bouncing and ready to get up and go.  Any hints?

We really aren't doing anything exciting right now.  Trying to get school to a stopping point for the Christmas break.  We are enjoying Bob very much.  He is a real blessing.  I think we may try to get some Christmas decorations out and do some decorating today.  We will see how that goes.

I just found out that our homeschool group won't be having a mom's Christmas get together this year.  I always enjoy that, so that was a huge disappointment.  Our homeschool group hasn't really done a lot at all this year.  I hope it picks up after the first of the year.

My honey is leaving Chicago, IL and heading back to Ky today.  It feels good to have him closer.  Freight is moving very slow and lay offs are possible, so we pray that he gets to stay and work.  I have another friend whose husband is laid off.  That is a scary situation.  She is doing well and they have been very blessed by family.  I just pray that he finds a good job soon.

Have a blessed day!  HUGS

It's a rainy day here

Myspace Comments

It is rainy here today but that doesn't have to get us down.  We have a lot to do today.  We have to paint all the stars and start putting lights in them.  I will try to get some pics up when we get them finished.  It is a process.

We are still mixed up on our nights and days.  It is so much easier to go to bed late and get up late for me.  We can even get a lot done that way.  I just think we feel better by doing it the other way.

We are supposed to go to Columbia today but will have to see how the weather is doing before going.  It is yucky right now.  The temp is 34* and it is only supposed to get to 40.  It was warm last night, so I wonder if we have already reached our high for the day.  Can you say brrrrrrrrrr?

I hope everyone has a blessed day.  HUGS!!!

Good Afternoon,
We are wild today.  We have had a visit by hubby.  That was an unexpected pleasure.  He got to come by, eat and shower.  That was better than not seeing him at all.  We are trying to finish school and then, we are going to be working on our 4 foot stars that we sell for an outdoor Christmas Decoration.  They are so awesome.  We even have an 8 foot lighted star that we made for ourselves.

We are adjusting well to Bob and he is adjusting well to us.  He wasn't real sure of Paul.  That was too funny.  He barked a couple of times.  Paul was ok with him too.  I think they both just need to warm up to each other.  Paul even ask us to bring him out to visit in the truck.  That was awesome.

I hope you all have an awesome day.  I hope we have a productive one.  HUGS!

Where's the push?

Posted in Family

Christian Myspace Layouts

Have any of you ever been to the place where things aren't bad but they aren't great either.  Well, that is how I felt this morning.  My husband is awesome.  We get along great.  The boys are terrific.  They are learning daily.  I am ok, I just don't feel the push in me to make me do things.  I mean above and beyond just getting up in the morning.  So, as I sat here, I got to thinking.  I woke up for a reason today.  I am here as part of a larger plan.  I know that my GOD is working and wants me to be my best.  I have to put forward the best for Him, me and all that I will be around today.  I can do more than just take up air.  I mean after all, I am a child of a KING.  HELLO!!!!  Why do we tend to forget sometimes.  I have no idea.  We just have to kick it back in gear and go forward.  I have no real problems.  I just need to let God come through me more and have a right attitude.

All that being said, it is time to get ready for 4H.  I am going to fix sausage and biscuit here instead of buying it in town.  I am going to hug my boys and help start them off right today.  I can do this.  ON MY OWN??? NO WAY.  GOD is right here with me.

Are you enjoying your day?

Posted in Family

Glitter Graphics

That was a loaded question.  We had to stop at the beginning of our school day and have a 5 minute, get rid of the bad attitude moment.  As I was coming in here to make a post, I found this graphic and it hit me.  We made a choice to do better.  We could have kept the ugly, rotten, I don't want to, I don't care, I dislike this attitude and still done what we had to do.  We, unfortunately, have done that before.  For some reason, God really intervened today and showed us a different way to take care of this problem.  Thank you Lord.  We got rid of the icky, yucky "tudes" and have been nice to each other and ---get this--- we are getting our work done so much better.  I guess you all know this but today was my day to relearn.  I guess you can teach an old dog mom new tricks.  YAYYY!!!

We were so blessed last night to have a visit for a couple of hours from hubby (daddy to others).  He got to drop by here, eat, shower and then leave again.  We at least got to visit with him, talk his ear off and just enjoy his presence.  That was terrific.

We have 2 presents already here for the boys for Christmas.  I am so happy.  I hate waiting till the end and it seems like we always do.  I am over a month ahead.  I just have to deal with all the things that we need to do for our family dinner and Christmas.  No problem.  By the way, Jackie, what do you need for Christmas this year.  I don't need towels.  I am thinking of what we could trade.  Any ideas?   For everyone else - My sister in law and I get each other something every year.  The rest of the adults don't do this.  It is special for me and her.  We have been doing either bathroom towels or kitchen towels or sets.  That is something that you either forget, don't want to spend money on right now or just wear to the point of no return.  So we decided to do get a gift for each other of something that we normally wouldn't get unless we just needed it or had to break down and get it.  I always look forward to exchanging something with her.  She is an awesome sis.

Better get math checked.  Have a blessed day!  HUGS!

I just love that graphic.  We want a dog but can't seem to find the right one for us.

Well, it has been a while again.  We haven't really been doing a lot.  We did go to the Smoky Mtns last week.  That was fun.  I got a new starter on my car too.  That wasn't fun.  LOL

We are back to the routine.  Get up, eat, do school and then whatever else needs to be done.  Paul is still on the road.  He is awesome.  I am so proud of him.  Well, we better get moving.

Have a blessed day!!!  HUGS!

Surprise guest today

Posted in Family

Glitter Graphics

My hubby is home this morning.  He went to get the load he was supposed to get and it wasn't there last night, so he came home.  He is still here and waiting for a call.  That is a great surprise guest.

We have been kinda crazy for the last week.  I haven't even managed to get in here.  We ended up going to Miami, FL last week.  It was a quick trip but we got to go to Alligator Alley and see all the alligators in their own habitat.  That was so COOL!  We didn't get any pics because we were driving.  That stinks, but we didn't get any pics of the bears that we saw in VA either.  I am just happy we got to see them.  At first, I thought we were seeing logs or knobby tires in the water till we figured out what was going on.  Anyway, it was a neat trip.  I also got to see the Everglades which is where Alligator Alley is.  That was neat as well.

We have a lot going on this week too.  We have a Science/History fair on Thursday night.  We need to get ready for that and we need to pick up black walnuts too.  Always something to do around here.  Never a dull moment.  I guess I better get moving.

Have a blessed day.  HUGS

Happy busy Thursday

This is a busy Thursday for us.  We have school this morning and then we have a lot of running to do.  We have to take a tent back that we borrowed, take some walnuts to be hulled and then go to tutoring.  We may end up with a Wal-mart trip in there too.  It should be an interesting busy day.
Tomorrow should be good too.  We have 4-H in the morning.  We will then be leaving to go to see my family in TN.  We are having Mexican night at my brothers house.  Of course, Jackie, my awesome sister in law will be doing all the work.  They make me so proud.  They have taken in 2 of her aunts girls when she passed away and things are going so good.  They have redone their house (my mom's old house) and it looks like a different place.  I just can't say enough about how proud I am of them.  The girls are all doing well and it is a blessing to call them family.
I have plenty to do here as well.  The dishes are screaming, clothes are becoming close friends to the floor and vacuuming (what's that?).  I guess I should finish here and get started in other places.  LOL
Have a best blessed day!!!  HUGS!!!

Yard Sale

Posted in Family

Well, the yard sale was a flop.  We made enough to cover the food we ate.  LOL  Most of the time we do really well when we sell.  I guess I should explain that we don't just do yard sale stuff.  We go to an auction and buy a lot of scratch and dent stuff.  Most everything we get is new and has minor problems.  The good part is that we needed to pack the trailer different and that did get done.  The funny part is that I packed it wrong and didn't leave enough room for all the other stuff we need on it.  LOL  OH WELL!!!  Go figure.  We will be going to the auction next week and then selling again at the first of November.

Paul is going to work tomorrow.  The company needed help pulling some loads from a place locally.  He has to go 4 hours away and then 4 hours back with unload time in the middle of that.  That is a real bummer.  I keep trying to visualize the extra money but I would like to see him instead.

Another funny, my cat keeps moving her 2 babies.  My youngest son got them out this morning and now she moved them to a tiny place that isn't enough rooms.  Cats are so strange.  The kittens are almost as big as the mom.  It is so fun to have babies around, even if they are just kittens.  I will try to get a pic of them soon.

Have a great night!!!  HUGS!!!

We are heading out to set up and yard sale today.  I hope it's a great day.  We are really doing well right now on our budget.  That is a blessing.  With the economy so wishy washy, I would love to be debt free and not have to think so much.  That is an awesome dream.
Hubby made it home late last night and will be leaving in a few minutes to go and drop a load in Glasgow.  He has to haul a load tomorrow and the go to tomorrow night for a load that unloads in IN on Monday morning.  So, we really won't see him a lot this weekend.  I thank God for a man that provides for us.  I wish we could see him more.  I hope this isn't an every weekend thing.
Well, I almost have me tea drunk.  It's time.  Have a blessed day!!!  HUGS!!!

On the run Thursday

JellyMuffin.com - The place for profile layouts, flash generators, glitter graphics, backgrounds and codes
I just loved this graphic.  So cute.
Today is our running day.  Patrick has tutoring.  The new Wal-mart in Columbia is almost done.  I am chomping at the bit to be able to just go in and get everything.  I will be able to do all my shopping in on trip that I have to make anyway.  How cool is that???  For those of you that read this, that aren't from here, we live in a teeny, tiny, one red light, nothing but Dollar Stores (that I am so proud to have) town.  So
Wal-mart is a big thing.  LOL
Paul called last night and had thought he would be able to come home, BUT, it ended up not working out.  That was really stinky.  I got my hopes up and then BOOM, nothing.  I hate it when that happens.  I gues that's life in the trucking business.  I told him, that we need to just be glad he has a job with the way things are nowadays.  It is a blessing to know he will get paid.  Speaking of blessings!!!  We now have insurance.  WOOHOO!!!  That is major.  We really needed to get that, so we have accomplished a big thing there.  I don't know how good it is or what it covers but will find out soon.
Well, better shower and fix sausage and biscuits.  Have a blessed day.  HUGS!!!

Day 2 Setting up for the sale

Posted in Family

Glitter Graphics

Good Morning

We were wild yesterday, so I didn't get to blog.  We got 2 of our tents up and got our big trailer unloaded as well as the back of the truck.  We got home last night and finished tying the small trailer down and loaded the truck again.  We will be going this morning to unload it and start placing everything.  Wow, what a job.  We have buddies that will be on either side of us and that makes it so much better.  I have to say a BIG THANKS to Geoff McGreggor.  He helped us get things together yesterday.  Paul (hubby) is on the road again after getting a tooth pulled on Monday.  So, Geoff helped us set up things.  God really blessed us with help.  I would have been lost.  Thanks for your help.  Paul said BIG THANKS as well.  This is going to be a crazy busy week.  We still have to come home tonight and load the big trailer again.  We have lots of stuff.  Please say a prayer that we all do well.  This is a big weekend for all of us.

I have a little information on my friend Brad that had the motorcyle wreck.  He has a lot of scuffs and bruises.  It is a little worse than what we thought at first.  He will be ok but it will be process.  He had a little internal bleeding that caused a little problem.  We think that may have stopped.  He needs to get up and get mobile so he can get better.  His blood is a little low from where he lost so much.  Please just keep him in prayer, like I said, it is going to be a process to get better.

I am going to get some tea and try to wake up.  My neighbors dogs were here this morning.  I have to go and check out the area.  I hope they didn't bother our kittens.  They woke me up barking and then they came in the garage and ate our cat food.  GRRRR!!!  I'm trying to be nice. :)

Have a blessed day!! HUGS

Mondays are usually slow days??? Not today!

Posted in Family

Hello

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was busy.

I want to ask for prayer first for a friend.  He had a motorcycle wreck on Saturday and has really bad road burn.  He isn't a great patient, so we hope he stays in the hospital for a bit.  He is 28.  He will need lots of prayer.  He is very sore right now and he has a lot of open wounds.  They will take a while to heal and it will be quite painful.

We worked Friday on getting things ready to sell this week.  Saturday was a picnic for a company in our town.  We do the grilling.  That went really well.  We kept them in lots of food.  We were here when we found out about the motorcycle wreck above.  We got home late after going to the hospital.  That pretty much finished out Sat.  We worked most of the day yesterday and got a lot done.  We had to make a trip to Cookeville, TN last night for parts.  While we were there, my hubby took me to Olive Garden.  He loves me so much.  That is one of my favorites. YUUUUMMMMMM!!!  I ordered a Chicken Alfredo with broccoli and we of course got all the yummy salad and breadsticks we could eat.  Paul got a plate called A Taste of Italy.  It had lasagna, fettucine alfredo and a chicken parmesian.  It was good.

That brings us to today.  Usually Monday is kinda spent a little lazier than the other days.  We just kinda kick back with school and don't push as hard on Monday so we can re-coop from the weekend.  Today won't be like that.  Paul is still here.  We will be working on some more things to sell and getting things loaded.  Paul has an appt. at 1 today to get a tooth pulled (hopefully it isn't to bad to pull).  We will then come back home and go back to work.  We get to set up the tent and starting setting things up bright and early tomorrow morning.  And that will start our wild week of the Roller Coaster Yard Sale.

I desperately need my Lemon Zinger Tea this morning.

If you haven't tried it, it's awesome.  The lemon wakes me up in the morning.  I use raw sugar in mine to make it a little sweet.  I am trying to cut down on it some.  You could also use honey if you like.  I love it.  I had a kidney infection a few weeks ago and I quit drinking coffee.  I don't even like the smell or taste of it now, so I found this and it is caffeine free.  WooHOO!

Guess I better get going.  Have a best blessed day!  HUGS!

Happy Busy Tuesday

Posted in Family

Hope everyone is having a great day.  Our days and nights are still a little mixed up and I can't seem to get them straightened out.  That is a big deal here right now.  I am also trying to see if I can set up a morning chat each day to decide on our goals for the day.  We seem to just kinda blend now a days.  I think we should be working toward something.  So, we are going to start morning chats to decide on goals for the day and possibly the week.

Guess what I forgot???  The garbage.  I forgot to take it last Friday.  We are blessed with lots of it.  I don't want to wish away days, however, Friday would be nice.  LOL

I guess I better do something or it won't get done.  Food is first on the agenda.  I will get the boys settled with some work and I will whip us up some good eating.  (that last line if for my friends Misty and Carrie)

Hope everyone has an awesome day.  HUGS!

I got a new book today

Posted in Family

I just got a new book out of the mailbox.  I was just leafing through it and this is the first thing that I read.  I like it.

True Devotion does not consist of the performance of certain Religious Duties at set times, but in the Spirit in which the Ordinary Duties of common life are performed.

William Law,

A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life.

Not much going on here today except work.  We are doing school in the morning and then I will be putting things together for the Roller Coaster Yard Sale coming up Oct 2,3 and 4.  We are working hard getting ready for that.  We also went to the auction Sat and came home with lots of goodies.  They have a drawing that you can enter if you are there before 12.  I had to take the boys to soccer that morning, so I was late.  However, my Paul was there and got his ticket. The man that runs this auction asked everyone to come inside for the drawing.  I hollered at him and said just draw my number and they don't have to come in.  He proceeded to tell me that he would get shot if he did that.  Well, you will never guess what happened.  A little girl drew the winning ticket and WE WON!!!!!  We got blessed big time.  We won a 27" tv, small frige, dehumidifier, microwave, remote control boat, remote control truck, toaster over, push mower, dishes, car coffee mugs, cordless phones, picture frames, car mats and much more that I can't remember.  It was awesome.

Have a best blessed day!!! HUGS!!!
