It's Monday Already?

Posted in Parenting and Family

I've come to the realization that I'm not gonna be a daily poster.  It looks like it'll just be once a week for me.

School has been good, despite the fact that we've been so busy lately.  Last week, we only had school 2 days!!!  That's unheard of, but this week we're back on track.  I hope we stay that way because I want to finish the curric by the end of May.

Mother's Day was a bit disappointing.  We visited MIL and my DH wanted to treat his mom to dinner...home cooked.  He grilled the meat and I prepared the rest.  She is 83 yrs old and is quite grouchy and demanding.  We served her well, and I don't even know if she appreciates it.  I think she appreciated the visit more than anything because she lives alone and wants her kids to visit her every chance they get.  She has a way of making them feel that they owe her something.  I feel sorry for my DH.  Her mind is slipping and there is nothing they can do about it, but grin and bear it.  We all do.  DH nor the kids did anything for me, so I was kinda bummed about that too.  Oh well...I still know I'm loved...special treatment or not!

Camille's allergy test results were given to me today and YAY! no allergies to food.  It seems that her problem was just the skin allergy, and that's pretty easily treated.

Tomorrow will be my parents' 40th anniversary.  WOW!!  They're not planning much, but I think it is so exciting.  I don't understand why it's no big deal to them.  I hope we're not that way when we have our 40th.  I wasn't able to give them much.  I sent them a card and I'll probably have some balloons delivered too.  I hope they have a great day nonetheless.  That is really something to celebrate!

(((Hugs))) My dh and kids didn't do anything for me on Mother's Day, either. Well, Brianna did make me two sweet cards (one because I'm her mom and one because I'm her teacher. lol) and Megan voluntarily told me Happy Mother's Day (with no prompting), but dh totally dropped the ball.
