Today started out pretty non-eventful. Surprisingly, there was absolutely nothing on my calendar - well, except for library books due back. We slept till about 10:00 and lounged around for a while before deciding on a whim to go see a matinee. RV was showing at the $.50 theater, so we planned to go at 11:30am.
After rushing to be ready to leave in time, Sarah couldn't find her glasses. Last night, we were up late - talking in the living room - when they went to bed. Sarah was beyond exhausted, so it was no telling where her glasses were. She looked for over an hour (needless to say, we missed the 11:30 show). After a while, I felt sorry for her and helped her look. No luck. She insisted that after our talk last night, she went straight to bed...not even to the bathroom. If this was true, they HAD to be in their bedroom. We retraced her steps and I asked her if she covered her head before going to bed. "yes", she says. "Did you use your nightcap?"..."No. I used panties.". I told her to check her underwear drawer and VOILA...there they were! We also missed the 2:30 show because Camille had just gone to sleep when it was time to go, so we ended up going at 4:30. Very funny movie, IMO. It had a couple of bad words though. So I cringed. I just don't understand why movie writers feel the need to include unnecessary profanity in movies. *sigh*
During Camille's naptime, we emptied last year's binders and prepared for this year. Since we're using different curricula, everything has changed. They'll use reproducibles for L/A and Science, but will need the binder still for Math, Science sheets, and a few pages for History. Sarah enjoyed decorating the front and back covers. She's excited about being a 4th grader. She did a great job on the front cover. The back cover will change with the seasons. Today, she drew an swimming pool and jacuzzi with her sister and herself standing beside the pool in their swim suits. Nice!
I'm thinking of a better way to organize our supplies for next year. For a while, we did school upstairs in the guest room, but I didn't like it much. Also, it's too small of an area for Camille - now that she's so mobile. I'd rather use the downstairs (LR and DR areas). There just isn't a good storage place down here. I think I'll go to the dollar store and buy some bins w/ lids and use those. I thought about storing our daily supplies in the garage, but I don't feel comfortable with that. I don't know why, but I just don't.
DH is doing better. He went to work today, but came home in quite a bit of pain. He was chomping at the bit to cut the yard today after work, but I insisted he didn't. He can be so stubborn. He actually ate Chee-tos today with his lunch!!! Lord, please don't let him get dry sockets/infection. He just doesn't obey me like the kids do...ARGGHHH!!! Why is that? |
