What a beautiful day! It was 56 degrees this morning, and simply gorgeous. I just love when I can turn off the A/C and open the windows. Autumn is my season of beginnings. I know most people think of Spring when they think of beginnings, but for me, it’s autumn. It begins a new school year, a new calendar year is on its way. The trees shed this year’s foliage and fruits in preparation for a new year. The air cools and the days get shorter. It’s a wonderful time for family…caramel apples…county fairs..football games…picking pecans off the ground. It seems like fall is coming a little sooner this year too. Oftentimes, it’s still near 100 degrees in September. But this year, September has been mild. Even August had good rainfall here in In school, we’re completing our study of the Vikings today. I’m actually gonna miss ‘ol Eric and Leif. I think the girls enjoyed it too. It was interesting to them to discover that the Vikings explored Sarah’s spelling unit this week covers countries in Math is a sore topic for me right now. I’m not sure what to do with Rachel at this point. I’m thinking I’ll work the rest of this week with her on percents, then we’ll move on next week. Maybe if I leave it for a little while, it’ll click the next time we look at it. She’s known to have mental block when she’s afraid of something. Well, I hope you all are having a great Thursday! ~Karen |
