How'd I Miss That??

Today was another sick day in our home. Sarah woke up with a fever of 103+ again. Plus, she’s complained for two days about her throat. At first, I was certain it was a viral infection since she had no other symptoms, but with the sore throat, I called the doc and scheduled an appointment for her. Well, the strep test was negative and so was the flu culture. YAY!! Looks like I was right...it was only a virus. What's more, since this afternoon, her fever has packed up and left…just as quickly as it arrived, it’s gone. Rachel has 6 games this week. Yes, 6! Plus, cheer practice and an areawide devo on Sunday. This will indeed be a busy week. I hope everyone is healthy and up to it. I enjoy going to the games, but it’s really hard with Camille – especially when there are two games back to back, as is the case 3 times this week. We missed the games tonight, but we’ll go on Thursday and Saturday for sure. Today, since Sarah was sick, we read a lot. We started a new book by Gary Paulsen titled “Hatchet”. It seems very good so far, after the first 3 chapters. Also, we read through the Declaration of Independence. This is so sad, but I don’t think I ever read the document until today. Surely, I must be wrong…HOW DID I MISS THAT?? How could I have graduated from high school (with honors, I might add) and have never read the Declaration of Independence? That is so beyond me, and even embarassing. I’m learning of many things I missed in my school years. I hope my children are enjoying and will remember the things we’re studying. I guess only time will tell. |
