Home Improvements

Hubby has taken one of his vacation weeks this week. But, this is no real vacation. Instead, it’s turned out to be a productive work week. He has finished the landscaping and is almost finished tiling the main bathroom floor. Tomorrow, the new carpet will be laid, so we have lots of clearing out to do this evening.
Before we moved in, we only had ½ of the house carpeted. That half was older and obviously needed replacing. We had hoped that steam cleaning the other half would have eliminated the smoke and pet smell that was in the house. Well, it helped, but it didn’t completely go away. There is still a faint smell that we can’t get rid of – even with special carpet cleaners/deodorizers and candles. With Camille’s asthma, we can’t afford to take chances; so we’re spending the same amount to carpet the other half. Hopefully, that will completely eradicate the bacteria and the odors.
I’m awed by how much we’ve done in only a month. My husband is SO talented. His handywork runs circles around the professionals! There are only a few projects left to tackle before we can say… enough for now. Those are: tiling the kitchen and the master bath, staining the girls’ new furniture, painting the ceiling (which he started but hasn’t found the energy to continue), and replacing two missing storm windows. From an original list of about 25, this is such a relief.

Wow, that is alot to do! and i thought we had projects going on.
With our son's asthma we had to eliminate carpet. It was the best thing we ever did and i am so glad to be getting rid of the last of it from the house now. I love my laminate floors!

Actually, it sounds alot like MY guy. In 17 years, there hasn't been anything my DH can't fix or make. Talk about being married to Superman! Isn't it great!
