MIL and Alzheimer's
Posted in Parenting and Family
|
After one month of being in various hospitals, my MIL went home yesterday afternoon. The family is doing this only as a last attempt to see if she'll "snap back" in her familiar environment. It's a scary ordeal because of her disorientation and aggression, and not recommended by the doctors of the mental hospital that just released her.
As of yesterday evenine, she was sleeping, but she didn't recognize the house when she first arrived. Just like that, she doesn't recognize her home or even her children at times. What a crippling disease! I'm anxious to see how last night want since it usually worsens in late night and early morning.

I'm sorry you're having to see MIL go thru this--and see your dh have to come to terms with what has happened to his mother. I hope she will have some good days in her home environment

I'm sorry you MIL has Alzheimer's.
It is a dreadful disease.
I lost my grandmother to it several years ago. Sometimes i suspect my MIL has it, too.
