"Organized" Chaos
• Mar. 31, 2009 - Product review - Schleich Animals
As much as mom likes getting new curriculum to try out, the kids are not so overjoyed. So the few times we have gotten a box that contains and actual toy – they are thrilled! Today we got a nice size box from Schleich containing an assortment of their play animals. There were about 8 of them from a pig (not sure what variety since my farming days were MUCH younger), a fawn, a deer, a hippopotamus and I can’t remember what else. The kids have already scattered them through the house so searching for them to give an exact inventory is probably a lost cause right now.
I think they’re a great addition to their play sets – well made, very realistic looking and heavy enough they don’t knock over during play, but light enough that when hurled through the air at a sibling, they won’t do any real damage. They sent a catalog with the animals and have a HUGE assortment to choose from - everything domestic to on the wild Serengeti. I can see boys and girls both wanting them for imaginative play, various animals making learning more fun as a hands-on addition or even using them as props for projects and presentations. They’re reasonablly priced which works well for mom’s budget. Go give them a look at their web site or you can pick up and assortment of their collection at Target or Toys-R-Us. |
