Beste Alle!
One thing that I did learn from doing the Flylady thing for all those years is to not try and catch up, but rather, just jump in where I'm at. A philosophy that is serving me well especially when it comes to blogging; well personally, I'm finding this is a good way to live at the moment.
Now for the 'little catch up'!
First Christmas (25th December)
The tone of the day was relaxed and fun. We spent the middle of the day with the kid's Aunty Esther and Uncle Craig, giving and receiving gifts, and then of course there was some eating.

In the afternoon we rode over to our friends the Homets for yummy desserts and a couple of games! Caryn had her sister's family visiting from the USA so there were heaps of children and they all played so well together .... great to see! I made my first Pavlova, so I was really happy with that.
Second Christmas (26th December)
On this day we had Ben and Beulah, with their two children, over for a pancake brunch. They brought with them a couch for us that some of their neighbours where throwing away. People throw away some really good quality furniture, but we aren't complaining as we have scored ourselves a nice corner couch! Then in the afternoon we rode the tram into the Dam for some window shopping.
New Years Eve
We had about four families over so that was really great and eventhough we had been warned about the fireworks I'm not sure if anything really prepares you for what it's going to be like! People had been letting fireworks off during the day and leading up to 12 midnight, but, as soon as it hit midnight the skies exploded with light, noise and there was smoke so thick that it reminded me of the Canberra fires when the smoke hung in the air. Exciting and eerie at the same time. We stood out in our street and all around us, up over the top of houses and apartments you could see the fireworks exploding in the adjacent streets. We had this amazing light and sound show that went on for about 30 minutes or longer.

Ice Skating Lessons (2nd, 3rd, 4th January)
The kiddos are in their second day of skating lessons and absolutely loving it. Even after two days I can really see a difference in their confidence and skill levels.

Practice area off to the side of the main skating track
