Educating Emme

• Aug. 15, 2006 - Just an update

It is a perfect day outside.  The girls draped pink sheer curtains over the tree branches to make a club house.  They just finished their picnic lunch.  The BOY rarely plays nicely with them.  He is here in the house eating his lunch.  He certainly is a handful.  I've been thinking this is a "stage" for, oh, say, 7 years now?  I have a picture of him at 10 months old that is the epitome of his personality.  He has a bottle hanging from his teeth, a big grin with dimples popping, and he had put applesauce (or who knows what!) in his hair and it was sticking straight up.  He was pulling himself up on the couch.  The look on his face and mischievious sparkle in his eye should have told me what type of BOY that he would turn out to be!

It's my Mom's birthday today.  The girls made her some beautiful cards with construction paper, scissors, crayons, and stickers.  I'm sure she will love them.  We're going to go over for cake tonight and then go out to dinner (all of the girls) on Thursday.  Tomorrow is my sister Beth's 29th birthday.  We are going to have steaks on the grill for her day.  She doesn't really want a celebration.  (Wait til she 30, LOL)

There has been no work for me lately in my editing job.  I just emailed my boss to see if there is something else I can do.  I really don't want to type -- as it seems like step backwards from editing the typists.  However, if I got one of the accounts that I've edited for for the past 2 years, it should be a piece of cake.  It just always seems whenever I take a transcriptionist job that I end up getting doctors that have horribly thick accents or the connection is bad and it's half static and then I end up looking like a bad transcriptionist.  *sigh*  We'll see what happens.  I have been blessed with a work at home job for the past 2 years.  It doesn't bring in a lot of money, but enough to help out.  Even with a strict budget, Mike's paycheck isn't enough to keep us afloat.  It's stressful.

Well, I'm going to do some more school scheduling in my Homeschool_tracker -- which is FREE by the way.  I love it.  I can't wait to utilize it for more than the kids' reading lists and the journal (which I use for scheduling, lists, and hs ideas and etc.)  Check it out.
