Educating Emme

• Nov. 6, 2006 - Response to reading comments

Posted in Homeschool Life

I just lost my post.  I was thanking each of you individually for your wonderful comments about reading.........

I will go back and do this again, because I wanted to post what you all said (aside from Ms. ANONYMOUS!  *coward!*)  and give you personal comments about how your suggestions have helped me to rework how I will teach reading.

Thank you, thank you for your encouragement!  It has really helped me to climb back on the reading train and try new and fun things with her to further motivate her to continue on with reading.

Having this journal is such a wonderful resource -- having all of you homeschooling moms to look to when I am having difficulties, or to share successes with is just awesome!

Please watch for my updated reading post later tonight or tomorrow!

Sherry

about the anonymous person. Its just someone that is bored and has nothing better to do. I think its probably a kid. This type of comment can only come from a person that is very immature. So, I wouldn't worry at all.
I am so glad that you got some encouragement from the comments. We all have those times when we need encouragement, even if we have been at it for years.
(((hugs)))

I just went back and read your post about reading, Sherry, and I grabbed those two websites so that I could read them. I have had the same struggle with one of my boys and believe me, it is a common thing! I am so glad to see all the encouragement that you received (just ignore the little snot)!

I'm glad you didn't let the mean comment get you down. I would have been stressing over it. Like my mom said, teachers are not experts. A teacher cannot spend one on one time with one child when there are 30 others. If our schools are so great, why are all the politicians trying to make schools a better place? No child left behind, hmmm.... sounds to me like there is a problem with kids falling behind in schools.... Keep up the good work.
