Our new friends
As part of our science curriculum we are raising tadpoles. How fun! They are called Grow a Frog tadpoles. They are really neat because, as tadpoles, their skin is clear so you can see their heartbeat and everything. They will grow into aquatic frogs so they will always live in the water. We are really looking forward to raising these. Part of the experiment is to put a lamp over one of the tanks for a couple hours a day. We will find out if the tadpole that has the warmer water morphs faster or slower.

The above pictures are of our tanks. The following pictures are close-ups of the tadpoles.

In the above pictures if you can see the 'goldish' colored spot on the underneath of the tadpole you are looking at it's heart. In the below pictures I was able to get a close up of one opening and closing it's mouth. They breath and 'filter feed' every time they open their mouths.

We will keep you updated on their progress!
Shannon
