Warning: This is the first ever blog of a person who knows nothing whatsoever about computers or html, so let's hope I don't accidentally delete anything important!
Now you have been warned and I'll reassure you a bit by saying I am learning as fast as possible!
I surprisingly know my way around HSB fairly well, because I've been browsing, reading others' blogs, and leaving anonymous comments for a few months now. It was my friend, Melanie, who gave me my passport to the blogosphere, in the form of her blog address. When I finally got around to visiting it, I was really impressed by her blog, and as I visited a few of her friends, by theirs as well. I left comments here and there, under the name Lady of Imladris, or Grace, much to Melanie's amusement! And as I got more familier with HSB and the people here, the more I wanted to be part of it. So.... long story, simple point: I got a blog of my own.
I sincerely hope this blog will be a blessing to all who read it, and I will purpose with all my heart to make my posts encouraging and edifying.
Sing Me To Heaven is dedicated first of all to: my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He deserves all the glory for everything, and I am continually grateful for his mercy that endureth forever.
Secondly: to my family, who graciously have put up with me for 15 years now, and especially to my dad, who is the one teaching me all this computer stuff. (Sorry for the lack of a descriptive word there at the end, I'm at a loss!)
Thirdly: to the H. sisters, my good friends Josie, Melanie, Sarah, and Felicity. Our family has been so blessed by yours, and we'll miss you when you move to Washington. *sniff* But now I'll be able to keep up with you here! I love you all so much!
Fourthly, (even though 3 is a more customary number): to my friends at my church, NGCA. I so appreciate your loving encouragement (and patience with that little quirk of singing out loud that I mentioned in my blog description!) You all are so amazing!
So ends my dedication, though I haven't listed half of the people who have invested in my life and made me what I am. You know who you are and I am forever indebted to you.
Now... for you who don't know me yet, you shall soon be enlightened! After reading my profile and description, you should have a fair idea, but I'll tell you a bit more.
[ I'm the eldest in a family of 4 kids: Emily (13), Anna(9), and Alan(5 months). I'm in my freshman year of high school, being taught primarily by my dad. I love writing, prose and poetry; sometimes for school, but more often for my own pleasure. I've never written a full story- I to seem think of parts of stories, snippets from things that could be bigger, but I rarely try to capture more. The truth is, the little two-page sections interest me so much I scarcely have time to work on a real story! I'll probably post some of them here.
Classical music is definitely my main extra-curricular activity and interest. I take piano and voice lessons from two splendid teachers and I'm in a homeschool choir. From time to time I hope to post recordings of my singing/playing and get your input!
I adore anything from the Medieval Ages and Renaissance, and you may catch me sometimes using 'thees and thous' in my writing! I also like fantasy, as in the Chronicles of Narnia, or The Lord of the Rings. I agree with G. K. Chesterton when he says: "The more truly we can see life as a fairytale, the more clearly the tale resolves itself into war with the dragon who is wasting fairyland." But I endeavor to balance things out, so I indulge often in more substantial reading, such as biographies, history, and those books which don't have a 'class', that I read for school!]
So, you may form your own opinions, and I hope we will come to know each other better soon.
I know, that was an extremely long introductory post, but I'm done now. Thanks for reading!

Hello there! Thanks for the nice comment you gave on my blog. Actually I just started this whole blog thing to. I don't really like my template so I'm trying to find a new one. I also love Lord of the Rings. At the moment I really don't have any friends.:) It would be nice if you could be my first official friend. I think we could get along really well.
I have a list of people's sites I think you should visit.
Long list. As you can see I already have figured out some stuff about the "blog idea" I think you'll like Curu. Curu and his sister Luthien are really nice.

You finally got a blog! I'm excedingly happy for you. Now, if we can just pull Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy together, I'll be pleased as punch.

Yay! Either I'm nearly as excited as you about this or I'm crazy! ;-) Your introductory post is very nice and not a smidge to long! I don't know if you every saw my very first post but it was pathetic! All the same, it's neat to see how far I've come since then.
But that's not the subject! Boy I get sidetracked sometimes. Alrighty, now I have to get some kind of shout together to let all my bloggin' buddies know that you officially have a blog (though I can't promise anything very soon)!
Grinning in irrational abandon, Melanie
very cool!

Wow, Gracie, looks really cool, i can't wait to see what else you post!! See you @ church in a few weeks! *hugs*

Welcome to the blogosphere! I'm sure you will have a great time blogging. I love lots of classical things too...including music. I don't think I have much of a talent for it (I only play the piano), but I do enjoy it. My artistic side leans more so towards painting and sketching. I'm also fascinated by Medieval/Renaissance history, the writings of Lewis and Tolkien, and am the eldest of 8 children.
I guess we have some things in common. Anyway, I hope to visit again soon!
MAY GOD BLESS,
~Amanda~
P.S. - I'll add you to my friend list if you don't mind...

I love your blog! It's very pretty.
I think I've been taking voice lessons for about a year now. Or almost anyway. Right now I'm working on Seben Crudele, My Jesus I Love Thee, and My Immortal by Evanscence. I really enjoy them.

You take voice and piano? So do I! I'm so glad you got a blog! Yes, you can add me to your friends list.
~AuthorElf
LOL, no, I've only read half of that book. I got tired of it. :-|
How did you get to my Finwe blog? Rosethorn sent you the URL to my other blog, didn't she?
I like LOTR too! Your Above of all the other bloggers I know who say they don't know anything about HTML, you know how to repeat a background.

I've been taking voice for a little over a year. I recently did Minnelied (a German song) for a voice festival, and I am also working on Gollum's Song from LotR.
As for piano, I've been taking lessons for around eight years, though it's only been the past two or three (I'm not really sure of exact dates) that they've been...formal. In that, I'm doing the Warsaw Concerto, Bach's 3rd Invention and a Spanish Raphsody. I admittedly have no great liking for Bach's Inventions, but my piano teacher has informed me that I can either do Inventions or scales. *sigh* I do the Inventions. But all in all, I enjoy my music lessons.

Sure you can add me. I on the other hand, know a lot about computers and technology. I do like to play the Piano and sing. I also love the Lord. I have played the Piano for 5 years now and have been singing on my own, although I would like to take voice lessons.. God bless.

I acctually started piano reluctently myself. I wanted to play flute, but I was too small to play the flute at the time, so I started piano lessons to learn the notes. I remained determined to play to flute for some time, but piano was a skillful charmer, and after a time I fell in love with it. I've always loved singing. The odd thing is this; while I don't really mind getting on stage and singing to an audience at a vocal recital, I am terrified of just singing for 'Aunt Sally' in the living room. Isn't that odd?

hi,
very nice to meet another grace:)
I am so suprised to find that you know about Pirates of Penzance! My nanny Jo showed the movie to me, it was hilarious.
Greetings,
Thank you for your kind comment and visiting my realm.
Yes, you may add me to your friends list, if I might add you to mine.
I enjoyed reading your introductory post…very nice. Seems we have some things in common in regards to our choice of reading material and that we both enjoy Lord of the Rings. I also enjoy Renaissance and Medieval eras, especially the gowns. Right now I have the great privilege to be making and designing costumes for a Cinderella Musical set in the time periods we both enjoy…so that has been a wonderful experience.
If you are looking for other blogs to wander…might I suggest:

Her blog is very sweet, and she posts on my interesting topics and she is my cousin.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Brielle
I see that you got some experience in visiting HSB before blogging. Now you can enjoy receiving all the comments!

Yes, I do take flute! In fact, I played with the church
choir on Sunday. It was so nerve-racking! I greatly enjoy the flute and want to play it to glorify God, not myself.
Oh, really? What part did you play in Cinderella??....sounds like fun.
We are doing a Rogers and Hammerstein version (Broadway script).
I answer to your question…. what the Prince costume looks like, actually his is finished, but I am waiting for the boots to get here. It is sort of a “Will Turner Inspired” pirate look… with a swashbuckling hat, (complete with feathers) cape, etc… then the ball outfit is different with an embroidered coat of arms on it and pirate style shirt and boots. Can’t say much else about it…due to secrecy reasons :)…., but I’ll be posting pictures of everything in May.
Sincerely,
Brielle

The demon is very powerful. It can teleport, change shape, possess unprotected people or kill them. It probably has more powers than that, but demons are difficult things to study. All I know is that this particular demon is considered very powerful by most other demons. Most demons meet their match in Cartagh, for not only is he a very powerful Nymph, but he has learned to harnass his power better than most Nymphs. Any demon who meets him has a fear of him for ever after, if it lives through the encounter.

Hello Grace Elizabeth,
Thank very much for the comment.
I'm glad you enjoyed my post, although i'm not very good at rhyming. =)
Your blog is quite lovely, I really like your avatar, it is very cute. Are you standing in front of lilacs?

Why am I "Striker"? Well....uh, I don't really know, it wasn't a LotR blog until AFTER I made it. ;D
Have you read the Lord of the Rings books?

The Nymphs would know better than I how to kill a demon. I have asked them, but they say it is a difficult process to explain, especially to one who is not a Nymph. All I know is that it is a complex, precise and tiring process. So tiring, in fact, that some Nymphs have died from exaustion. I'm sorry I can not tell you more.

Hi Grace!
Thanks for the comment on my blog, I do remember you now! Do you mind if I add you to my friends list? Welcome to HSB officially :-). God bless,

Congratulations on your first foray into the blog world! I would give you advice but I am afraid I know very little of this art. Though you do seem to be handling it with the same great skill that you have with all things you put your hand (or voice) to. May the lord bless you.
-David.
Thanks!

It is a beautiful instrument, but very hard to play. =^) My mother and other people at my church say I did a good job also.
Oh goats do stay that cute forever they just get a little biger.

Actually getting in contact with the Nymphs was rather difficult, for they are very shy of those who are not of their own kind. Once they learned who I was, however, they were quite happy to converse with me. The Teransen Nymphs knew me before my exile, so they were easy to get in contact with.
Is it possible for a non-Nymph to kill a demon...I'm not sure. I think it might be possible for an Elf to do it, but certainly not a human. The energy expended would just be too much for a human to withstand.

You are growing up too fast, but I'm enjoying every minute. :) Love, Aunt Shari
Grace is a 17 year old girl who is striving to follow God's leading, but would be constantly embracing failure if God didn't just sweep her off her feet, sometimes against her will. Music is her first love and expertise: specifically voice, but also piano. She has been trained classically, which is a good thing, most of the time, except when she wants to sing pop style... and can't. Her favorite genres of music are Celtic, Scottish and Irish folk songs/jigs, film music, and broadway show tunes. Grace also takes pleasure in the beautiful diversions of writing poetry, Ultimate Frisbee, sketching, dancing in the rain, Irish Step Dancing, speech and debate tournaments, scrapbooking, acting, reading, photography, standing outside at night while the wind whips the trees every which way, and talking about herself in the third person.
