Thanks so much for praying for me, everyone!! All of your comments were so encouraging, and I'm blessed to have such friends. :-)
I got 2nd alternate at the audition. There were actually 5 people who 'passed', and there are two alternates. So if two of those 5 drop out (get sick, go on vacation, disappear off the face of the earth, anything), then I'll get to take the 2nd one's place and audition in the next round.
So anyways, on the one hand, I'm disappointed that I didn't make it in and live up to my record from last year. But on the other hand, I know there's a reason for this, and though I may never know it, I trust God to have everything work out for HIS glory! I'll miss being at State, but I'm Ok with it. ;-) There's always next year! ;-P
Thanks again for praying, and I'll reply to all your comments when I get back from Thanksgiving vacation! I'll be 16 when I return! And C.S.Lewis would have been 110, and Lousia May Alcott would have been 176. Yep, I share a birthday with two famous authors! Neat, huh?
All we Texans hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving!

So, when's your first book coming out? I mean, since famous authors are in your zodiac I figured...
I need to find you a birthday present! Don't get your hopes up too high though.
I'M NOT GUARANTEEING ANYTHING!
But I love you to death all the same! And I want you to know it!

Hello 16 year old! Its fun sharing a birthday with famous people isn't it? I share a birthday with Leonardo Da Vinci and Corrie Ten Boom. Very neat!
:'-( So sorry you didn't make it this year... Still, you did really well to get as far as you did! I certainly wouldn't have made it... ;-) Also, thanks for setting a good example of trusting God even when things don't go perfectly! He is in control- which is really encouraging to remember!
We did have a great Thanksgiving. Hope you and your family did too!
EDIT: Oh yes- Congratulations on winning the journal. Its really lovely!
Blessings,
~Hadley

*googlesJuly30*
Okay, so I share with a few neat people. Almost forgot about Nannerl Mozart, and just found out that Emily Bronte and Henry Ford share the day too. Now I'm good. ;-)
Anyways, happy belated birthday! Josie told us about your breathing issues the other day. We'll be prayin' for ya'!
Grace is a 17 year old girl who is striving to follow God's leading, but would be constantly embracing failure if God didn't just sweep her off her feet, sometimes against her will. Music is her first love and expertise: specifically voice, but also piano. She has been trained classically, which is a good thing, most of the time, except when she wants to sing pop style... and can't. Her favorite genres of music are Celtic, Scottish and Irish folk songs/jigs, film music, and broadway show tunes. Grace also takes pleasure in the beautiful diversions of writing poetry, Ultimate Frisbee, sketching, dancing in the rain, Irish Step Dancing, speech and debate tournaments, scrapbooking, acting, reading, photography, standing outside at night while the wind whips the trees every which way, and talking about herself in the third person.
