"Folk" Tales

May. 5, 2008 - UGH!!!

This house-selling thing is for the birds.  A couple came Friday, but we haven't heard back from them.

A couple was scheduled to come from 3-4 on Saturday.  We do all the cleaning and leave the house for hours -- just because once it's clean, you don't want anyone touching anything.  At 3:45 my realtor calls and says they're not coming because their flight was delayed.  They reschedule for Sunday from 2-3.

After morning worship, we clean again and leave the house.  At 3:15 we return and notice that they never showed up.  I called my realtor who calls their realtor -- They had put a contract on another house that morning, but didn't notify us.

I always say that it will happen in God's timing, but I get so excited when I think His time for the sell has come, that I am disappointed when it doesn't happen.

I can totally relate to your frustration. We've had our house listed for almost a year and in that time we have only had 1 couple look at it. We have had planty of no shows. We frantically clean the house and then noone shows up. Uhggg is right. I hope your house sells quickly. There's nothing more frustrating than just waiting.

We have our house up for sale right now too...by owner...but none-the-less it is such a frustrating process. It is so exciting waiting on God's plan but it really can try our patience right? :)

Hey, sorry to hear about your frustration. I suppose it doesn't help that half the nation is experiencing the same thing! We are trying to avoid it ourselves, and praying that God leads us in His wisdom.
Do you have to sell? Maybe your house is the perfect place for your church meetings right now. I know we were convinced about a month ago we would have to sell but it looks like we might be able to stay a little while after all.
Praying for you!

Came by to see how the house selling was going. I'm sorry you're are having to deal with folks not showing up. :(

The Lord is your strength and your shield. You heart trusts in Him, with a song you shall thank Him. Your help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip and He who keeps you will not slumber. He keeps your soul and guards your going out and your coming in......You go from strength to strength in the Lord. The Lord is a sun and a shield to you. He gives you grace and glory, and NO GOOD THING DOES HE WITHHOLD FROM YOU. You are blessed b/c you TRUST in Him.

That is for you today........Bless you!!!

Ugggh! That stinks! I'm so sorry. We're having the same thing going on in our area. There's a house in our neighborhood that we looked at when we bought our house almost 2 years ago. Hang in there. Ten years from now it'll be obvious what God was doing with all this. Sadly, right now it's probably hard to see. I'll be praying for you!

Ugh is right! That is so frustrating. I remember feeling that way when we were trying to sell too. We ended up doing a lease to own contract which would close this July. Well, because of the state of mortgages right now, they can't get a loan. So the deal fell through. We decided to continue renting to them for another year though. They are good renters, always pay on time and are taking good care of the house. But it really scares me to have mortgages on two houses and be responsible for two houses.

I really hope your house sells soon.
