"Folk" Tales

Jul. 10, 2008

Wow!

We had a home inspection Tuesday.  I was concerned about the results because our house is 58 years old.  We have had a ton of work done here, but there are still problems.  The inspector found a laundry list of problems and work that was not done to code :(  -- By the way, we paid "professionals" to do this work for us, we did not do it ourselves, and it was not to code .  Anyway, the buyer looked over the list with his realtor and decided that he is getting a great deal on the house and is not asking us to fix ANYTHING!!!  What a blessing from the Lord!  My realtor said she has never had anyone that didn't have a repair list.

So far, so good.  Please pray the rest of the process goes smoothly as well.  We will be moving next Thursday and closing on the 25th.

Juliestew, it is not in Easley, but still close :)

thelordismyshepherd, we have no idea how to take care of these animals.  We don't have to take care of them, their owners will. However, we would love to learn and maybe add some of our own animals in the future.  There is a small garden there also.  I can barely keep a house plant alive, but will be learning how to grow a garden.  I forsee a HUGE transformation in the near future.

I'm sure you and the kids will learn a lot though by watching and helping. Praise Lord your inspection went through! I can't keep houseplants alive either but somehow I am loving my garden! I will probably double its size next year. I have found such enjoyment in weeding it, loving it, even talking to it! I know I'm a goober. When will you move?

Sure looks familiar to me! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We have animals leasing the land right now. We don't know how to deal with them either! But we are willin to learn. We are acquiring a goat this weekend. We have a Kubota too! The Lord did give me the gift of gardening, so in the next couple of years, this place will be rockin' with plants. Check back, I'll have pictures soon.

Hi Corey,
Soooooo excited for you guys! The farm is BEAUTIFUL - neat as a pin! What a Blessing! I'm jealous. I would love an older farm house - only with all the updates. Praise the Lord on the buyer not requiring any more work. Looks like lots of room for your new farm kids to roam. Happy packing!

I'd hate to see our "laundry" list whenever we sell...our house is 121 years old! I'm saying a prayer for you now as I finish this. Congratulations!

I'm so glad the inspection worked out ok! That stuff can be strangely scarey, like a big test in school. Don't worry about the garden. I'm not a half bad gardener, but I can't keep a house plant alive for the life of me. Just remember, "Green side up!" ;)

You guys will love farm life! It's a freedom like no other. Plain, simple, and earthy. I can hardly wait to see the children on this farm. They'll have a new experience to chat about. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Love, Mom
