Getting Settled

This place is so fun!  The movers came last Thursday and moved the furniture in.  Paul was able to come straight here from work and have all the beds and things already set up.  The first night was awesome.  We kept asking each other, "Are we really here? Are we dreaming this?"  It is just amazing how the Lord worked this out for us.

The kids get up early to go play with the goats and they love the trampoline and swing set that the owners left.  I love going onto the screened porch in the mornings with my coffee and Bible and watching the cows.  The sun rises over the field -- it's just beautiful!

My mom came Saturday and worked her magic.  She is great at decorating and arranging furniture.  Thanks Mom!

There are of course some issues with a 100 year old home.  There is no dishwasher (except me and the boys) and the downstairs bathroom is the size of a closet -- a really small closet.  Speaking of closets, our master bedroom doesn't have one.   So while this is a very fun experience, it is not perfect.

The closing for our other house was pushed to next Wednesday.  We have to replace the door knob on the front door and add hand rails to the steps of the sun room.  The FHA appraiser requires this.   I don't know how we're going to get this done, so please pray it works out with little stress.

Corey

It sounds wonderful! Your story gives me hope that God can, no - will, work out our house situation too. I'm sure the little things with your other house will work out too, but I'll say a prayer anyway. :)

Since you don't have a closet, does that mean you don't have to put your laundry away?

Oh How FUN!!! Your place sounds so ideal! I guess you are going to have to head over to the antique shop for a wardrobe (free standing closet) - of course, now you will only need a couple of pairs of overalls, so maybe just a couple of hooks would suffice, farmer Corey. lol I hope all gets straightend out with your former house. I remember when we moved from our little close-to-the-Cities home, we had to put in new front steps & a couple of handrails too. May the Lord bless your work ahead.

Thanks for the kind comments ~ just don't blame me if you end up hating farming - lol. (just kidding).

Both our girls asked Jesus into their hearts when they were 5 1/2, but we had to wait until they were comfortable putting their heads under water & for a good church before baptizing. Last Sunday was truly a blessing.

Sounds delightfully peaceful. I can picture you seated on the porch as you sip your coffee and talk to our Awesome Daddy -- starring at His awesomeness that surrounds you. It's the little things that show us just how much He cares --- the tramp and swing set for the kids, He knew just what they wanted or needed.

And the closet and bathroom situtations, well I suppose you can just wear the same thing day after day since you're now a bonifide country gal -- a few overalls should suffice. So have a huge yardsale and there'll be no need for that master closet!!

So glad to hear all is going well --- He is sooooo faithful!!!

Just stopping in........ Your new place sounds wonderful! We live in the country on 6 acres. We just built our new home and moved in Feb. of this year. It has been such a blessing to have space for the kids to roam. My favorite part is the peace!!! Enjoy your little bit of heaven!

Oh, I can imagine the relief you'll feel after you close on your house!

Can you post some pictures of your new place with all your stuff in it! I love to get ideas and inspirations from how others decorate.

Hey Corey, I'm tagging you. You can see what at my post here...http://homeschoolblogger.com/thelordismyshepherd/565008/

How wonderful to get all settled!! I hate unpacking. With four moves in six years, I'm a pro, but can't stand the unpacking.
Fire ants-yuck!
Can't wait to see pictures!! Sounds wonderful. The no closet thing is okay-it'll work out.
