Sub-Contracting

Back in the fall, Paul and I attended an agricultural convention.  The keynote speaker made a comment that hit me hard.  Maybe you have heard it before, but it was the first time for me.  He used the phrase "sub-contracting out the kitchen duties".  Ouch!  It is so true today, as we purchase pre-packaged, processed, preservitive infused, ready-meals.  Or, we eat out and let someone else feed us who-knows-what. Our waist lines are expanding and our health is declining.

Made me think about what other things we may be sub-contracting out with poor results....

hmmmm.....

I've never heard it put that way before...that is very true. Subcontracting kitchen duties...hmmmm. Very, very interesting. Also, I'd love to come put a zipper in for you if you lived close. I've never had issues with zippers for some reason, although I have plenty of other issues with sewing ;-)

Is that Avatar your house? It's so pretty.

I agree with you about contracting out meals. And really I think all in all with the cost savings of making things from scratch - once you get used to it, it's not really harder. I'm one to speak - I'm definitely contracting out more in that department since I broke my wrist! But some people have brought us some wonderful homemade food too. :)

What else are you referring to contracting out? Definitely education, but we homeschoolers less so, but did you have anything else in mind?

Good thoughts.

Three thoughts of things we contract out are the understanding and studying of God's Word, healthcare in cases when we could come up with our own better natural treatment and prevention, and disseminating world events and being active, concerned citizens.

Hi Corey,

Wow, you have been posting again, woohoo. Good post! Yes, I agree. I was amazed this weekend we ate & ate, but it was homemade - so even though it was full of sugar and fat, it wasn't the pre-whatever stuff and I actually lost a couple of pounds instead of gaining - I was amazed. It makes you wonder what they put in their stuff.
