Characteristics of a Horse (another poem off of my other blog)

The screaming blast and fiery eyes of a challenger.
The tender heart and gentle spirit of a young colt.
The prancing steps and arched neck of a victorious king.

A poem off of my other blog

My Dog
When he was a puppy, he looked SO cute,
But now, he's just an ugly big brute!
He used to be able to cudle with me,
But now he can't even sit on my knee!
When he was little, his kisses were ok,
But NOW when he slobbers, I shove him away!
I couldn't think of a last line, but my mom says that she dosen't think that it NEEDS a last line. If ya'll think of one, I'd LOVE to hear it in a comment.

Charlie

Hello! Sorry I havn't posted on this blog in a REALLY long time!

You may have noticed the colors I'm using are Christmas colors, and that is because I'm going to be posting a Christmas story I wrote this time last year about a little gingerbread man ornament that gets hung up on our tree each year. Well, actually this year he's in the ornament hospital, so, Charlie, this is for you!

Once upon a time, there was a gingbread man. His name was Charlie. There was something that stood Charlie out from all the rest of the gingerbread men: he was an ornament. He was the kind of onament that got hung on the Christmas tree. Every Christmas, Charlie wanted to get hung on the top; but every Christmas he was in the middle or at the bottom. He looked so real, that once, when he was hung at the bottom of the Christmas tree, the dog nibbled at him! There was something that Charlie wanted to know: Why was there Christmas? Every year, he puzzled at this.

One day, on another Christmas where he was hung at the bottom once again, he decided to take a trip up the tree to hang himself on the top. He hiked for a long time, until he came to a stuffed snowman. "Hello," Charlie said politely. "I'm Charlie; who are you?" "I'm Chilly," he replied. "Chilly," Charlie asked, "Can you tell me why we have Christmas?" "Certainly," Chilly said. "We have Christmas because an angel told some shephards to go to Bethlahem." "Oh," Charlie said; what was so special about a couple of lowly shephards? Charlie kept walking. He walked, and he walked, until, at last, he came to a girl in a sled named Luoisa. "Luoisa," Charlie said, "can you tell me why we have Christmas?" "Sure," she replied. "We have Christmas because of the kings who followed a big, shiny star." "Oh," Charlie said. Kings were special. That must be the real reason for Christmas. Charlie climbed on. He finally came to the top of the tree! He saw an angel on the highest branch, and went over and asked, "Hello, I'm Charlie. Is there a place for me up here?" He looked around. The highest branches were almost empty, so he thought the angel was going to say yes. But she just answered his question with another, "Why do we have Christmas?" It was the same question he had asked! "Chilly the snowman, down at the bottom of the tree said we have it because an angel told the shephards to go to a place called Bethlahem." "But?" the angel asked, knowing that Charlie didn't believe what he was telling. "But Christmas is about rich kings, not shephards," he answered, not knowing which story to believe. "Says who?" the angel asked. "Says Loisa, in the middle of the tree," Charlie answered. After a long silence he asked, "Who is right?" "They both are," the angel replied smiling warmly. "But they both left out the main reason." "What?" Charlie asked eagerly. In just a few moments, he would know the answer to the question that nagged at him for so long! "We have Christmas not only because of the kings and shephards, but because of a baby," the angel said, lifting its eyes towards heaven. "A baby?!" Charlie asked astonished. "Yes, a very special baby who changed the world and saved us all!" There was another long silence, and once again, Charlie was the one to break it: "So is there room for me up here?" The angel looked back at him and smiled, "Yes, there is always room for those who believe in the real reason why we have Christmas." From that time on, Charlie has always been on the top. Finally knowing why we have Christmas!

THE END

Now, there are a couple of explanations to be made: 1)sorry if the spelling is wrong on some of this, but I copied it out of my notebook(my sister says it's the notebook's fault!); and b)the reason why Charlie is hung on the top of the tree is because he looks so realistic, that every year, there's someone who just HAS to take a bite out of him! lol!

I hope you enjoyed my story about Charlie!

We are homeschoolers, no?

Hiddeyhoe, Peoples!

This is the blog where I, SammyJo, post all my poems and stories that I think up during *ahem* school. (don't tell msmarla!!) lol! jk! Now, mind you, I probably won't post EVERY day on here, but only when I have a story or poem!

Here's today's poem:

We Are Homeschoolers

No, we DON'T get to go to school in our pjs,

WE also have to work all 5 days;

We get chores along with school,

Sometimes the teacher and I have a duel.

                We are homeschoolers.

We get breaks when the phone rings,

Also when the doorbell dings,

When the baby cries,

When it's laudry time.

                         We are homeschoolers.

Our best friend is probably our brother,

Of course the teacher is our mother!

We always have to answer the question,

There are no other students to make a suggestion!

                            We are homeschoolers.

When Grandma comes we get a break,

A birthday means free icecream and cake!

At lunch we get reading out loud,

Also at lunch, there is no crowd.

                             We are homeschoolers.

In some ways public schoolers are lucky, but we're

                               luckier,

Because I can tell you: I'm a proud homeschooler!

Thanks!

-Sam
