Sep. 30, 2005 - Sign Language

We are going to be teaching our autistic dd sign language so she can communicate to us on her really bad days.  When she has a bad day she refuses to talk or in other words become non-verbal.  We have decided we are going to teach her signs.  I am looking for good sign language books especially those that have Christian signs in them such as Jesus, God, Bible and so on.  Right now she knows: No, Yes, and stop. ha ha

If you have a really good resource to recommend to me feel free to leave me a comment.

Thanks!!

Holly

we are having fun. I bought a computer program called Instant Immersion American Sign Language. It has a live dictionary. You click on the word (or do a search) and it shows you the sign. You can also type in a a wordprocessor and it signs the text.

I bought mine on eBay.

I have the Joy of Signing book. Another mom let me look through her sign books and she has very good ones. I may post these later today.
