Learning From Others

Ok...it's time for another attempt at blogging.  I've been very busy these past couple of weeks, but I wanted to let you know about a couple of great things I've gotten involved in recently.

I began a new home school series with Cindy Rushton called "Back to the Heart of Homeschooling".  We have only had 2 sessions, but so far it has been packed with information, and encouragement.  I've really enjoyed getting to chat with the other moms in the series and have learned so much from just listening to their own experiences.

I also began a new Bible study series with Cindy that same week.  It is called "Ministering to the Heart of Your Child".  WOW! I don't know another word that could describe it better.  Sometimes I'm so focused on getting everything right with the children's education I find myself forgetting that ministering to their heart is the most important thing I can do.

I believe these series are still open, so if you are interested in joining us here is the link to the information.  http://www.talk-a-latte.com/

Once you join you can get the audios and transcripts of the previous sessions, so you don't have to worry about missing anything.

I also want to encourage you to go to www.MomtoMomRadioShow.com and listen to the audio called "Beautiful Womanhood" by Charlotte Siems.  This was a wonderful, refreshing, encouraging audio.  I love getting to learn from others!

Well, as you can imagine since our schedule has been so out of whack lately (I haven't even scratched the surface of what we've been doing) we have not been on a rigid school schedule.  What I find amazing is that, with the curriculum that we use,  if we have to skip a day of school we are able to make it up the next day without being too pushed for time.  That has allowed us a lot of flexibility.  For example today another homeschooling family dropped by to pick up something and invited us to the park.  We were able to go and spend the entire day at the park with another like minded family and enjoyed it greatly.  Tomorrow we'll just catch up on what we missed today, or we might even save it for Saturday morning when Daddy is at work.  I'm learning to be flexible now and enjoy life more.  I think it is making for a happier me, and a much happier home and family.

REQUEST:

I would love for those of you who visit my site to post your favorite educational website in my comments section.  I just love finding new information on the web to help us in our journey of educating our kids!

I hope your journey is blessed!
