Healthy Home - Spritually and Emotionally

Posted in Spiritual

I have just listened to a two part message, featured on Focus on the Family's recent broadcast, that I believe all parents should hear.   You can listen to this message by clicking on the title below and listening online.  I have slow dial-up and didn't have a problem listening (though we sometimes do have problems listening to audio online).  Below the link I've copied the description of each program from the Oneplace website.  This message is great, and has some good points that both fathers and mothers need to hear.

The Essentials of a Healthy Home parts 1 and 2

part 1
A peace-filled household, time spent together and godly role models - these are some of the elements that help our sons and daughters grow into happy, well-adjusted adults. On the first of this two-part broadcast, pastor and author Tommy Nelson uses Scripture to illustrate the needs all children share and what parents can do to meet these needs in a God-honoring way.
"Fathers, the greatest thing you do for your children is to love your children's mother. There is ... no sin a child will not forgive as long as the parents love each other." - Tommy Nelson

part 2
Many parents have read plenty of books on the subject, but what does the Bible say about raising healthy sons and daughters? Tommy Nelson wraps up his presentation of eight biblically-based essentials for raising well-adjusted children. Listen in as our guest focuses on the importance of esteem, acceptance, affection and discipline.
"A child not only [has] to have esteem and acceptance, he's got to have affection. He's got to have love with skin on it." - Tommy Nelson

I believe we are to encourage and spur each other on, and we as parents definitely need to be encouraged and challenged in our daily life within our families.  I hope you will take a few minutes to listen to this, perhaps as you check your e-mail or as you relax and recharge for a few minutes.

Blessings!
Missy

I just found your blog and it was very helpful. I am trying to teach myself to be organized this year (by nature I am not), and I appreciate you sharing what you are doing.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! Although I am not using My Father's World this year, I found much of what you had on your blog insightful and helpful. I, too, am a lifestyle learning kind of Mama :)! I will be back later to read more :).
Blessings,
Tina
