Homeschool Children Ordered to Public School in North Carolina

Posted in Homeschooling

Recently a N.C. judge ordered that three homeschooled children be sent to public school.  Why?  He states his reasons as:

"I think they'll do better in public school."

Public school will "prepare these kids for the real world and college ... be able to also have socialization."

But public school will "challenge the ideas you've taught them."
(see www.hsinjustice.com/2009/03/quotes-from-judge-mangum.html for more)

This is just another example of the attacks homeschoolers have and are facing in our nation...remember the California case that made national news last year?  Please stop by www.hsinjustice.com/ to educate yourselves about the case, pray for this family and all those involved in the case, and do what you can to help.  This is a divorce case, which complicates the matter, but that fact in no way negates the urgency with which we need to act to help preserve our rights to homeschool our children!  Pass the information on to everyone you know (either this blog post or the above link).  All homeschoolers should be informed.

Blessings,
Missy
