I did it!!!!!!!

I went down a full size in jeans!!!!! I've been dieting all summer.... okay sometimes being just a major pack of nerves in a constant state of panic (dh's disease, VBS, etc.) did help quite a bit. But I did take my dr's advice about dancing in order to burn calories - nothing big like a class, just more like around the house when noone but the kids can see.. I found 2 pair of jeans that are a size smaller than what I usually wear and they fit!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord!! It's nice to share some happy news for a change. Even if being depressed, a nervous wreck and/or just scared outta my mind did help in my weight loss. God is good all the time. ![]() |

I noticed my last post - something isn't right and went into the links, etc. So I'm just posting this in order for people to see the links, view my profile, etc. I hope this works okay! mollygirl aka Rabbit is my daughter on here. She's in trouble from her last post about the tv show. She needs a full serving of Veggietales. ![]() Piglet made a new friend at the park - a 5 year old boy. The mom told me he has a mild form of Asperger's. But Piglet loves kids with any kinda disability and most likely didn't notice this in him. Just that he'sa little different but she still seemed to like him. His mom and I became friends too! My buddy "L" saw my blog! (Hi "L"! you know who you are!) When can we go out to eat again? ![]() I do not know if my pastor - friend (can I call you my friend?) has seen my blog or not. Next time you "sing a song of Hope" I just might sing along. Just hope I don't give you an earache. rofl ![]() 'Nuff said. Happy Labor Day! ![]() My friends "E" and "J" has been here too. Hi guys! ![]() I hope this post hasn't been totally useless.. just trying to keep the links free that's all. I hope it works. |

summer thoughts

Oh well, 4th of July weekend was fairly uneventful, with the forecasts for rain. So we didn't do a whole lot. We did some shopping on Friday at Walmart - got some shorts for Rabbit and I got a t-shirt for an email buddy that says our state's name. (figured she'd like that) We also got some much needed cat food, which our cats appreciated! Our neighbors went away for the weekend. They have 2 cats that have made our yard their "territory," much to the girls' liking. Our neighbors asked if we'd feed their cats, which we gladly said yes to. I did so without double-checking with my dh on that, but knew it wouldn't be a big deal. The cats know us well, and our neighbors know they can trust us. They have a funny cat door: It's a small broken window at the bottom of their back door! This Thursday we're going to the beach with our church. It's for *going into* 4th and 5th grade and their families. My dh is taking the day off in order to swing this trip. It's an hour or so drive, but well worth it. When I was growing up, my grandparents lived in this town, and they gave me some of the childhood I couldn't have, living in a dysfunctional home. So this town is special to me, and I'm glad that the girls get to see it now that they are a little bit older. (we've been there before with the kids but they don't remember too well) This may be our last year in our state, if all goes well and we could sell our house. I really do want out, except for the shore. But I hope Piglet does okay when we're there. She's so hyper and it's hard to keep up with her! I do plan on taking recycled plastics (plastic cartons from macaroni & cheese, some plastic cups, etc) for sand-castle building. It should be fun! I can't wait! It's a nice, quiet area but a fun place to go to as well. Hope it don't rain. In 2 weeks, the girls have VBS. Our church is doing a Power Lab VBS, which looks really great. Science mixed in with learning God's Word. Jesus gives us the power to... be brave, to share, etc. It's going to be fun for them. I'll be helping out with the craft station, my personal specialty. I still want to look into going back to school to be able to work at home. I'm considering medical transcription, but not so sure. I really need to pray about this some more. With my dh having a rare blood disorder, the kids with their needs, and my back problems, this sounds like a good fit for me. And Rabbit (aka mollygirl) wants to take a knitting class at a crafts store. There's one about 20 minutes away - the next class is next month, specially for kids starting age 8. I'm all for it and I know who the teacher is: a sweet little lady with a strong, German accent. (just like Grandma used to have!) It's only $15 for the class but you need to buy your own supplies. Still it sounds like a good deal and Rabbit will love to learn it. I think she just wants to learn something different, something I can't do.. kinda like an "identity" thing I guess. That's fine, I won't touch that craft until she's older and either gives the okay or is living on her own and won't see me doing it. I do a knitting loom, but it's different for her. *phew!* I'll write more after our beach trip in a few days. Can't wait, can't wait can't wait! |

a new pet in the house!
Posted in Fun stuff
Okay so this is not the expensive kind. Not like cats, dogs, etc. We were outside picking black raspberries around our yard when I found this adorable little caterpillar stuck in a web. It was moving around just fine. Maybe it just walked into it? I don't know, but I do know God's timing is perfect, and He cares for the little caterpillars. And He also knows I'm a stinker for rescuing them or at least keeping them as pets. They're fairly easy to care for: find a jar that's about to be recycled, collect some leaves and maybe a small branch. Make sure you have a good cover for the jar that you can put holes in but not too big so the caterpillar can't get out. (I hope it doesn't!) And watch it closely because they are good little escape artists. ![]() We gave it a raspberry - I don't know if caterpillars eat them but it sure can't hurt! Raspberries are good for pregnant women, they can't be harmful to baby caterpillars.. Oh yeah, the name. Since we found it in a web, we felt the perfect name would be: Charlotte! Dh is not amused, nor did he even laugh. He was in his office and kicked me out when I told him the name. For those who don't understand, remember the story, Charlotte's Web? Charlotte was the spider. This little one got rescued from a spider. And that spider's gonna be pretty mad at us tonight! I just hope this one doesn't die, like the last one. We thought it was hibernating for the winter! Oh well. At least it won't die a terrifying death, in the hands of an icky bug anyway.. |

But I did take my dr's advice about dancing in order to burn calories - nothing big like a class, just more like around the house when noone but the kids can see..

Happy Labor Day!
