Homeschool Questions

When I took on this Awesome responsibilty of Homeschooling, I read everything I could find, I wanted to know the answers to the very questions that Family and friends are now asking me, can they go to college, how will I teach them the things that they need to know, what about being with their peers and the list go's on....

Do I ever worry, yes, did I worry when they were in public school, yes, Have I taught them everything they need to know this year, probably not, did they learn everything they needed to know each year in school, no. My oldest was behind in several areas about 4 grades.

What I do know is, what God calls you to do, he will  equip you to do. I know that I want my kids to be high acheivers, but more than anything I want them to have integrity, I want them to love the Lord, to be good spouses to the people they marry.

Do I feel guilty that they arent with their peers all day, no. I feel thankful, that the friends they do have, are brought up with the same values we have, I feel thankful that at 16, my son loads the dishwasher, runs the vaccum, can cook, works for a plumbing business, and is learning in an atmosphere with no distractions, where Bible is his first subject of the day.

I found a site on the internet at homeschoolzone.com, for questions about Diplomas, college etc., For all the well meaning people who want to know, that my kids are going to be ok. I understand this, I had the same fears.

Just know that Noone loves these kids or cares more about their education than their Dad and I , at school they are just a number, at home they are a gift, that God has given to us, and we will do all we can to make sure that they succeed in all that they endeavor to do.
