Mystery Solved!

It's amazing, but I guess you would think we had a cup stealer in our home!  I keep finding cups on the counters and tables... even under the bed!  All kid cups, of course.  The funny thing is, the kids keep holding to their promise that they only use ONE cup when they get a drink.  Hmmm.  If that is so, how did I gather 12 on the table last night???

Let me share a little with you... This past week, our first week of summer, I have had the chance to "catch up" on housework.  I've done the laundry every day, the dusting, the bathrooms, and even the dishes are being clean!  For the last couple of days I have gotten a load in the dishwasher early in the morning and put away by late morning.  A real sucess!  That is why I couldn't figure out why all the cups were always dirty!  I know I washed all of them... several times.  For that past few days I asked the kids to please only use ONE cup and if they knew why we had so many dirty  all the time (after all, they were the only ones here all day).  But to much dismay, I got the same responce...  "I only used one".  So I came up with a plan...    before dinner, I gathered up all the cups and placed them on the kitchen table (12 in total) and then I asked:  "Are these your cups? Do you remember using any of these today?"... and  finally the truth came out!  Mystery solved!

"Yes mommy.  I used ONE for my juice, ONE for my milk, ONE for the afternoon, and ONE is for dinner." Hmmm.  Multiply that by 2 kids, plus add three that I found under the bed, and it makes 12!!!  Exactly the amount I had sitting on the table!  Amazing.  I guess, in a way, they were being truthful...  they did only use ONE cup...  just not the same cup!!!  Yikes!

So, if you have a mystery bandit in your home...  try gathering the items up on the table ~ in front of the suspects ~ and you might just get your mystery solved!!!
