I figure this photo sums up the day for us. There is nothing like a sleeping baby after a big meal. All that turkey, stuffing, and warm rolls... just the right ingredients for a long nap. I hope you all had a wonderful celebration - we certainly did.
On Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, we dedicate the day to family time. This year we took a trip down to the beach and spent the day taking photos and discovering all that the Lord has made. The ocean amazes me. All the creatures that live in and out of the water. The power the waves hold. So tranquil, yet so loud. It was just a beautiful fall day.
"Slimy" was our newest discovery on the coral. A friendly crab (as long as your fingers remained away from his claws) we played with. His family was there along with some friends. They were catching little sand bugs and other "lower end of the food chain" organisms that seemed to come up with the tide. Although signs were posted everywhere for people not to adopt these sea creatures, we all got our fill in handling them. Fun!
Besides all this fun ocean life, it was also my baby daughters first time playing in the water and sand. She loved it!!! However, just like you would expect a little girl, she didn't like the wet sand on her toes. I don 't blame her...
I wish I could bottle up the ocean smell, the warm wind, the fresh water and the scent that only a coastal person can comprehend and send it to YOU. It's just amazing and with every trip to the beach (which is only a few miles from our home) I am awstruck by it's beauty.
I can't wait to tour blogland and read about your holiday. Please let me know that you stopped by for a visit. Have a fantastic day!!!
