Yes, day three for us with the sniffles... I'm better, but my oldest is still fighting the sneezes, coughs and runny nose. Ho, hum. So, we are trying to do bits and pieces of school. I don't want too much time to skip by and not do anything. So, to make myself feel like I am accomplishing something today, I thought I would journal about my oldest - although he is fighting a cold, he did begin something new today. Here's a little about him...
Our Prince Charming - Grade 5
Loves Science
Not interested in girls (for now)
Conquered Penmanship
Can't stand Math (but does exceptionally well in it)
Took on new responsibilities such as laundry and baby "watching" while I step outside
Is germ obsessed and loves anti-bacteria wipes
Hates Language Arts, but enjoys reading and writing (don't get that one)
New life goal for himself: To find a cure for Mental Retardation
Favorite Subject: Our present Science unit study (My Name Is Gene)
What did he do today that was NEW?
I have taken some welcomed advice from all you ladies and assigned my oldest to do his own laundry twice a week (he turned 10 a couple of weeks ago). With his very own laundry basket and a tub of detergent, I assigned Tuesdays and Friday as "Laundry Day". Of course, I lessened his load of chores for those days and have stepped aside from my laundry on those days, but guess what? He LOVES it!!! Who would of imagined!
I'm a very proud Mama
As for my SuperHero, I think I will continue to do his laundry until I can find a pair of pants without 22+ objects hiding in the pockets!!! Yikes, that might be until he's 20 ~
