Big stacks of paper, lots of folding going on... and colorful smooshed up balls of "rejected airplanes" all over the house and front lawn. That is what we have been up to for a week now. Perfecting the art of making paper airplanes. My youngest son is determined to make a perfect long flying airplane made of any scrap of paper he can find. However, as you know... whenever you start something new "Practice Makes Perfect". So, he is practicing and practicing... and practicing...
I've seen paper airplanes with launchers made of popcycle sticks and rubber bands; Paper airplanes stapled together and taped at the nose; Paper airplanes with glue... Shoot! I've even seen funny little paper men taking a ride on these paper airplanes. Unfortunately, these airplanes only seem to have one life. When they land, that seems to be their final resting place. It surprising to see that they never get that love (it's Valentine's week) they first got when they were just a plain piece of straight paper. Nope! They never get picked up and used again. A new one is on the assembly line before you know it! The craze, the excitement, the launch... and then the mess! Fun stuff over here when the sun finally sets.
Want to come and fly a paper airplane with me and my sons? I have lots to spare... and good ones at that.
