Push-ups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups... and a long run!

There is nothing like The President Fitness Challenge in California.  To my both my son's disapproval, the weather never fails to be beautiful and warm for this event with our Homeschool group.  Having heads-up from last year, my boys practiced and practiced ~ they were more determined than ever to do their best this year.   This is a photo of my youngest doing sit-ups with a friend.

My oldest, being born with long legs and quickness, breezed through the long run with 5 seconds to spare for first place -He achieved The President Award.  He beat all his classmates - and although this National challenge is not about beating your competitors, it sure did bring a smile to my boy's face when he smoked them (oops!  I got a little excited there ~ Sorry).  What joy to see!  There's much more to that story...     Let's just say that when he was on the city track team, he never seemed to cross the finish line (ok, he was only 3...  but still... stilling down inches from the finish line? ~  Yes, that really happened). I guess I should save that for another blog entry. lol

Today, we are heading to the Aquarium Of The Pacific in Long Beach, CA.  Should be fun.  Dad took the day off and we're heading out there early.  It is supposed to rain, but the main attraction is inside.  This will be my daughters first time seeing "fish" swim.  I'm taking my camera...

Have a great day, everyone!
