There is nothing better than the smell of Spring in the mountains!

Photobucket

Five minutes up the road, is a small hill mountain with streams and bridges that make a nice walk.  We took advantage of our beautiful California weather and went out this weekend.  We discovered old ancient Indian rocks that had whole dug in them where they would smash acorns and other small nuts.  We discovered a bridge that the local boy scout troop made a few years back...

We even had time to get a sunburn.  Just enough red to turn to brown the following day.  Just perfect weather!!!  It was so nice to get out and enjoy the smell of Spring.  So many flowers and plush ground covering.  Purples, greens, blues... yellows...  so many colors I can't mention them all!!!  On top of all that beauty, this was the first real test for my ankle since I broke it last June.  You see, I got the "clear" to go on short hikes starting this month...  so, I did.  My ankle was a little sore the following day, but nothing I couldn't handle.

I honestly can't imagine living anywhere else ~ it's all I know.  We are 30 minutes from the beach ~ five minutes from the mountains ~ 20 minutes from the Big City...  and have blue skies just about every day of the year.  It's a funny thing because I would just trade it all for some country living....  Anyone interested???
