My
show and tell today is one of links and education. For the last 16 days, we have traveled through space, had a space walk and even watched how a persons hair stands straight up in space. Yep! We've been glued to the NASA TV channel like never before. We have watched the Endeavor Space Shuttle launch, do it's mission, and land. It's been quite an experience. Every night for the last week we have got the kids together periodically and explained how wonderful space travel is for the world and how America and other countries have contributed to it's success. Monday when the shuttle deported from the International Space Station, I gathered all the neighborhood kids inside to watch on television the great event. The above little shuttle toy served it's purpose for any hands-on questions. Then, on Wednesday I gathered all the kids together again and watched the shuttles re-entry to earth. The best part? Well, we kept the kids up a little later than normal and went out side to catch a glance at the International Space Station pass over California (with a naked eye). Did you know you could do that? Amazing! It was great.
Here we are tracking the space shuttle...
My link that I'm sharing is of NASA. You can view past video tapes from the Endeavor Shuttle along with other past missions. You can see real space photos/videos - even take a behind-the-scene tour of what makes the space ship work. The International Space Station is still conducting tests and experiments. So, take your kids to space... they will enjoy the ride.
