Welcome to my little corner of the beach in Southern California. I am married to one amazing man who loves me with a heart of Christ and who has blessed me to be a stay-at-home homeschool mom of three wonderful blessings. My heart is for homeschool ministry and helping others through encouragement. I've been homeschooling since the beginning and love it more and more every day.


I began my journey in homeschooling based on Bible scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapter 6:6-12 Homeschooling With Encouragement is dedicated to encourage the homeschool mom. I am the owner of a Yahoo group, monthly newsletter, two homeschool blogs, and the Weblink Education website.

Weblink Wednesday

Welcome to  Weblink Wednesday hosted here EVERY week. 
Also, be sure to visit my website Weblink Education where all these wonderful weblinks you provide to to help other homeschool moms.

How did Weblink Wednesday begin?  Well, last year some time I got to thinking that there are so many great educational links out in Internet-land that there had to be a way for all of us to share them with one another.  So, with a little help from some friends, I found Mr.Linky.  The rest is history. 

So, mark your calendars every Wednesday for this wonderful event!!!  Everyone is welcomed ~  If you have never participated in Weblink Wednesday before, jump right in. It's fun.  If you need instructions on how to work Mr. Linky and so forth click here.

The weblink I would like to share with you today is World Book's Parent Resource Center.  This is a great site for those of us who are eclectic in their homeschooling and need a guide for what to cover in material each year.  This scope and sequence weblink is based on a typical course of study. World Book offers the results of ongoing research into curriculum requirements and standards.

That is a really good one. I have heard people criticize the use of this type of site, especially unschoolers or eclectic homeschoolers. However, it is a good guideline and nice even to just go through and say, "Hey, my kid has figured this out" or, "We've done that!" You definitely don't have to go through systematically and make your kid jump through every hoop.

This is my first time to participate, it has been very helpful to me, and I wanted to jump in and post my own finds!
