A Day Flying

Radio Control Airplanes and Little Boys

What is it about those radio control airplanes?  It seems that everyone loves them... especially boys.  My dad builds these little models, sells them, and fly the airplanes.  He even gives lessons to those "big" boys who want to give it a shot!  It's something fun that only "grandpa" does in our family.  My boys LOVE it!

This past Monday we were able to meet up with my dad at a local park and fly this little plane.  It's funny because my boys will drop whatever they are doing to go see grandpa fly.  You see, my youngest son will always fights to get his turn at the controls while my oldest wants to take it apart and see how it works.  Needless to say, with a propeller strong enough to fly this airplane around in the sky there isn't much room for anyone to get close.   In fact, this is the closest they are allowed (photo).  My dad took off part of his finger once reaching for a plane that he thought had the motor off.  Ouch!  It's powerful!  So, with much supervision and some fun crowd noise (us), we always have a blast!!!
