Welcome to my little corner of the beach in Southern California. I am married to one amazing man who loves me with a heart of Christ and who has blessed me to be a stay-at-home homeschool mom of three wonderful blessings. My heart is for homeschool ministry and helping others through encouragement. I've been homeschooling since the beginning and love it more and more every day.

I began my journey in homeschooling based on Bible scriptures found in Deuteronomy chapter 6:6-12 Homeschooling With Encouragement is dedicated to encourage the homeschool mom. I am the owner of a Yahoo group, monthly newsletter, two homeschool blogs, and the Weblink Education website.

Returning Home

Photobucket
Telluride, CO

We are home, safe and sound...  but oh do I wish I was still in Colorado!

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support while we were on vacation.  Your comments were fun to read when I traveled to the library for internet access.  Unfortunately, I wish I could still be sitting in that small little library, writing this post and dreaming of the home I will own in Colorado.  However, reality has set in this morning as I started my laundry and cleaned out the car.  We're home.

We had such a great time relaxing and smelling the beauty of Colorado.  All the memories of living there for 12 years and enjoying all the people we know who visited us throughout the week.  It was so wonderful.  It's no wonder I cried the night before we left just thinking about returning to California.  Although CA has it's own beauty, my heart is in Colorado.  My kids didn't want to leave either...  and my husband is still in a state of shock of being home and facing work in the morning.

The Lord answered our prayers and gave us a clear picture of our future with the preparations we need to make.  Get this...  We hope to be settled into a home of our own in Spring...  in Colorado.  Not only for beauty sake, but for ministry.  Homeschooling is BIG in this area and what the Lord has laid on my heart for ministry within that community is so exciting.  I mean, have you ever had a desire and know what you're called to do - but are just waiting for that door to open?  Well, I found that door.  Now, we are going to have to wait for the perfect timing... and opportunity.  It's coming...   I feel it in my soul.  So, one day at a time and one step at a time - all things will work together for the good

My "casted" son did fine - thanks for praying.  He ended up being in a bit of pain every night from traveling with his foot (walking on it now and then).  However, his mood was in good shape and his complaints were minimal.  I was able to sneak my oldest out on his own to do some "wet" stuff that the younger could not do... and provide surprises for my other son as he sat on the couch or bed.  My baby did the best - she is a traveling superhero!  What a trooper!!   Smiles everywhere and lots of new things to discover.  My husband also got some photography in along the way.  He has some amazing photos!!!  I'll be posting some here and there...   so, if you ever want a print, please let me know :)

Ok - I'm off to do some straightening up and some photo sorting.  I'll post again soon and try to visit everyone.  Hope you had a great weekend.

No wonder you were sad to leave. I'll be praying for your family as you continue to seek God's leading in your plans to move. It sounds as if it would be a wonderful place to live!

I can't wait to here more.

Your picture is lovely, glad the baby is a trooper and hope the cast is surving still.

Glad you are home.

Jul. 6, 2008 - I'm home too!

We got home yesterday evening around 7:40 pm. It took us a little over 13 hours - including a stop at McDonald's just before we got home.

I'm so sorry I missed meeting you in person. I am so excited about you moving this way. Did your dh find a job? I'd love to hear what the Lord is sharing with you! It is interesting that you are hearing the Lord call you here right now...I have several other friends who have recently gotten the same calling! What is the Lord doing?!!

Thanks for writing.

So glad you enjoyed your trip and that God has given you a vision for your future. You're right - homeschooling is HUGE here in CO! And more than I hear from other places, it's not just Christian families who make that choice, so there is a big opportunity to share God's love with many people. Maybe we'll get to visit you next summer - or we can connect at the CHEC conference.

Thanks for your prayers and kind comments on my blog today. We're doing better, but it has been hard.

Hey girl! I'm so glad that you had a good time -- but sometimes that makes it so hard to come home! Well, just gear up and prepare for what's ahead... I'll be praying for you like always!

YES we have had that feeling! We are so in the middle of that in our lives right now. We desire to move back home to CA and start a ministry there ( Inyo County). We are waiting for open doors. I am so happy for you guys to be on your way not just to a place you love but knowing that this is where the Lord wants you. God is soooooooooo good!
