Getting Trim

Photobucket

Whenever a special day makes it way onto our calendar, I always seem to get out my haircutting scissors and smock out for all to enjoy.  Bangs get trimmed, sideburns get shaved, haircuts get more defined...  and I get exhausted.  Let's face it, as mom's we are last on the list.  However, as I'm sure you will agree...  As long as our family is well taken care of, there are no worries.

I'm an early person.  So when I've got a full plate for the day, I've got to get my "Let's Get It All Done" attitude on first thing in the morning.  If I don't start early, it wont get done.  Well, this past weekend it was our hope to take our family Christmas photo down at the beach, but with the fires affecting the air quality...  it just couldn't be done.  However, I did manage to get those haircuts accomplished anyways.  I started about 9am on Saturday with child #1 and finished everyone by 10:30am!!!  All three of my blessings, plus one grown husband, got a hair trim!

I've learned that if I strap my two oldest children down first for a haircut, my little one will gladly take her place third.  No tears and not much moving around.  It was such a success that we decided to get that fancy dress down from her closet and snap a few photos!!!   Here is the result...

Without a party to go to that evening, or an ocean to play in, I just couldn't let this opportunity get passed up.  She just loves to dress up real fancy. Oh, I remember my boys doing the same - however, they liked to dress up like Superman or Spiderman - still it was fun.  Memories are priceless. I think that is why I blog...   so I can have the excuse to write it all down.  Do you agree?

So, no beach and no family photo this weekend... but what fun memories we made with the hair cut and princess dress!!!  Sometimes the simplest things are the most fun.
